Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Haral Dir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Ellison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Haral Dir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Anthony Ellison! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ellison looks for a takedown but Dir sprawls well. Dir lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Dir lands a head kick!
It looks like Anthony Ellison has been cut. Ellison walks forward, straight into a front kick from Dir. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ellison fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Dir misses with a low kick. Dir keeps the fight on the outside. Ellison checks the leg kick. Nice takedown defense from Ellison. No joy for Dir on that attempt. Ellison moves out of range of the leg kick from Dir. Dir closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Dir is figuring out what he wants to do next. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dir connects with a nice short shot to Ellison's temple.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dir is controlling the pace.
Dir lands strikes from half guard. Dir seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ellison pushes Dir off but Dir dives into side control.
Ellison is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Dir controlling from side mount. Dir wants to control but Ellison is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ellison is trying to get back to his feet. Ellison being controlled for a moment. Dir working the ground and pound from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ellison is looking to regain half guard here but Dir keeps moving and retains side control. Dir taking a breather here. Ellison is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ellison is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Haral Dir dominated that round. The cut man is working on Anthony Ellison's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
A head kick misses from Dir. Dir swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Dir throws a leg kick and Ellison counters by clinching up. Ellison lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Ellison missing with knees to the body.
Dir tries to stall but Ellison uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Ellison is trying to break the clinch but Dir is controlling him. Ellison gets control of Dir's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ellison will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Dir gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dir throws a leg kick and Ellison counters with a big head kick but Dir shrugs it off. Dir throws a chopping leg kick but Ellison manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Ellison changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dir tries to avoid it but Ellison manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dir to the ground. Dir escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A lazy body kick from Dir and Ellison moves into the clinch. Dir goes for a takedown attempt but Ellison pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ellison moves in looking to clinch but Dir pushes him off. Ellison keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Dir. Dir rushes Ellison and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. A frustrated look appears on Ellison's face as he tries to break the clinch. Ellison softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Ellison tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ellison tries a knee to the head but Dir blocks it.

Ellison throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Dir blocks it with crossed arms. Ellison tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ellison prevents a takedown attempt there.
Ellison tries to circle away but Dir has him pinned against the cage. Dir takes a knee right on the jaw!
It looks like Haral Dir has been cut. Dir has Ellison pushed against the cage. Ellison has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dir uses from the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dir is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Dir chips away with some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dir working some strikes from top position. Dir trying to control but Ellison is working from the bottom. Dir engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Haral Dir wasn't doing enough on the ground. Dir shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ellison pinned against the cage. Ellison gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Haral Dir. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dir throws a solid leg kick but Ellison takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Dir. Haral Dir is winning the standup battle so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ellison throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Dir avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Dir shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ellison but Ellison pushes him off and we're back to square one. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Anthony Ellison will probably get the nod - 10:9. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Dir looking to score a takedown here. Ellison is defending well but Dir drives through and ends up in Ellison's guard. Dir throws a big elbow that misses. Dir is fighting to break Ellison's control of his arms but Ellison is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Dir trying to control but Ellison is working from the bottom. Dir postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Dir is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Dir tried to score with a low kick but Ellison checks it. Ellison moves to clinch but Dir breaks away and Dir counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ellison's knee momentarily. Dir shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ellison defends it nicely. Dir misses with a lunging right hand
and Ellison counters with a head kick. Dir changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ellison looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Ellison wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Dir is working Ellison over with some ground and pound from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dir taking a breather here. Ellison wants to control but Dir postures up. Dir takes a little break here. Ellison wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Ellison avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Dir.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dir misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Dir trying to control the action but Ellison is working from the bottom. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Ellison pushes Dir away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Dir gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dir in side control, just content to control the action for now.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dir thows a body shot but no joy. Dir is looking to land body kicks. Ellison wants to clinch. Ellison tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dir manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ellison moves to clinch but Dir breaks away and Dir counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
And that's the end of the fight! Haral Dir showed his dominance in that final round. I think Dir has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
