Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kono looks to clinch
and Rude holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Kono content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Rude comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
It looks like Masayuki Kono has been cut.
Kono tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Rude wants to get up but he can't break Kono's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Rude wants to stand and escape but instead Kono has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Rude on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rude tries to get out of the position.

Kono pushing down on Rude's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Rude wants to stand back up but Kono manages to pass into side control.
Kono thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.

Rude knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kono on the ground.

Kono is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Rude is surviving well by controlling Kono's body position as best he can.

Rude's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rude is trying to stand but he's just given Kono his back.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kono tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Rude paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Rude takes the fight into the clinch.
Rude landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Kono is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

That has opened up Masayuki Kono's cut even more.
Kono takes a knee right on the jaw!
Rude has Kono pressed up against the ropes in a tight Thai clinch. Kono is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Rude - that's hurt Kono badly! Oh, another knee lands and Kono is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Kono doesn't seem to be complaining.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Bobby Rude!
