Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Glenn Stroud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Remy Bonjasky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stroud comes into the arena with Septic Flesh - Pyramid God blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Bonjasky's choice of entrance music: LP - Hit the floor. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Glenn Stroud! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Remy Bonjasky! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bonjasky slips a jab and a cross from Stroud.
Stroud tries to clinch up. Stroud misses the shot to the body. Stroud misses with a takedown attempt and Bonjasky counters with a nice leg kick. Bonjasky throws a series of punches but Stroud moves out of range. Stroud throws a nice looking combination but Bonjasky bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Stroud fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bonjasky avoids it really well and circles away. Stroud fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Glenn Stroud. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stroud manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bonjasky on his heels. He'll look to pass Bonjasky's guard now, I'm sure. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Stroud prevents Bonjasky from getting back to his feet. Stroud slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bonjasky sneaks back into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bonjasky keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Bonjasky tries to roll over but Stroud keeps him under control. Bonjasky is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Stroud scores with a couple of nice shots. Stroud throwing shots but Bonjasky is blocking nicely. Stroud is stalling here. Bonjasky is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Stroud seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bonjasky has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Stroud struggling a bit here. Stroud manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Bonjasky wants to pass to mount but Stroud is defending the position. Bonjasky is trying to work for a kimura but Stroud is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stroud taking some punishment here, with Bonjasky in his half guard. Stroud looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Stroud is trying to control but can't.
Bonjasky is looking for a kimura but Stroud is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bonjasky to get the leverage. Stroud is controlling Bonjasky's position as best he can from this difficult position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bonjasky wants to free his trapped foot but Stroud is holding on for dear life with his legs. Stroud is trying to get back to full guard. Stroud works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bonjasky trying to control but Stroud is working from the bottom. Stroud looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Bonjasky passes into side control.
Bonjasky decides to stand back up. Bonjasky steps back and let's Stroud get back to his feet. Bonjasky lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Stroud lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Bonjasky fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stroud manages to avoid it. Stroud shoots in looking for a takedown. Bonjasky tries to sprawl out of it but Stroud keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bonjasky manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Stroud fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Stroud misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Stroud has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Stroud misses with a body punch.
Stroud lands with a short head shot on the inside. Stroud breaks the clinch.
Bonjasky throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Remy Bonjasky is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Stroud tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bonjasky swats him away and circles back towards the center. Bonjasky takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Stroud dives in and grabs Bonjasky's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bonjasky pushes down on Stroud's head and hops out. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bonjasky pushes Stroud up against the cage in a clinch. Stroud lands a shoulder strike. Stroud missing with knees to the body.
Stroud has had enough of the clinch but Bonjasky keeps him there for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Glenn Stroud dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A combination from Stroud does no damage. Stroud rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bonjasky moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Stroud throws a series of punches but Bonjasky avoids them all with ease. Bonjasky throws a front kick that sends Stroud stumbling back into the cage. Bonjasky takes a jab right on the kisser.
Stroud swats away the attempt to clinch by Bonjasky. Stroud circles away from the clinch attempt.

Bonjasky's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Bonjasky duly obliges. The fight stays on the outside here - Bonjasky looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Nice straight punches there by Bonjasky. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Bonjasky. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bonjasky, right into the meat.
A big left from Stroud misses. Stroud misses with a wild body shot. Stroud throws a body punch but Bonjasky moves out of range. Stroud blocks a jab. Bonjasky leaves Stroud with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Stroud fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Bonjasky cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Bonjasky looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Bonjasky lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Bonjasky tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Stroud manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Stroud gets tackled into the cage by Bonjasky. Bonjasky maintains the clinch. Stroud has a couple of punches blocked by Bonjasky.

Stroud shoots in for a takedown but Bonjasky shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Bonjasky rushes Stroud and presses him up against the cage. Bonjasky working hard to break the clinch. Stroud tries to work over Bonjasky's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Stroud jumps guard and drags Bonjasky to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Stroud is pulling down on Bonjasky's head. It's preventing any offense from Bonjasky, at least for the moment. Stroud trying to control the position.

Bonjasky wanted to stand there but Stroud had control of the position. Stroud wants to sweep here but Bonjasky controlling him for the moment. Stroud is trying to control the position but Bonjasky postures up. Stroud is looking for a triangle but Bonjasky pushes his legs off easily.
Bonjasky must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Stroud manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bonjasky is desperately trying to improve his position but Stroud has a good base and remains in mount. Stroud thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Stroud punching from mount but Bonjasky doing a good job of avoiding damage. Stroud throwing strikes here but Bonjasky is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Bonjasky is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Stroud putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Bonjasky manages to regain half guard. Good work. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stroud is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bonjasky defends it well.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Stroud in particular looking to stall.
