The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stevans clinches.
Stevans has had enough of the clinch but Gracie keeps him there for the moment.
Gracie leaning against his opponent.
Stevans misses with a knee strike.

Gracie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Gracie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gracie lands in his opponent's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Gracie prevents Stevans from getting back to his feet.
Gracie is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Stevans can't keep his opponent in guard - Gracie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Stevans wants to get back to his feet.
Gracie with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Gracie passes to full mount!
Gracie wants to take his opponent's back but Stevans doesn't allow it.

Gracie looking to control and managing it successfully.
It looks like Gracie might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Stevans wants to control but Gracie is having none of it.
Gracie takes Stevans's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Stevans is in trouble.
Stevans holding both Gracie 's hands and preventing any damage.
Gracie controlling the position well here. Stevans rolled but Gracie kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
