The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Sanchez counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Patrick Cruz has been cut.
A swing and a miss from Cruz.
Cruz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sanchez tries to avoid it but Cruz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sanchez to the ground. Sanchez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cruz takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Sanchez bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Cruz closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Cruz is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Diego Sanchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Cruz.
Sanchez throws an overhand right that drops Cruz like a sack of potatoes! Sanchez dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
