Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Edvandro Gutierrez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leander Backsonder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Edvandro Gutierrez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Leander Backsonder! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gutierrez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Backsonder's half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Backsonder gets full guard. Gutierrez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Gutierrez trying to control but Backsonder is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Edvandro Gutierrez wasn't doing enough on the ground. Gutierrez shoots in and gets a takedown into Backsonder's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Backsonder wants to sweep but no luck. Backsonder keeping moving, preventing Gutierrez from controlling successfully. Gutierrez throws a strike but Backsonder rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Backsonder trying to control but Gutierrez is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gutierrez looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Backsonder wanted to stand there but Gutierrez had control of the position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Backsonder showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gutierrez.
Gutierrez doesn't manage to clinch there - Backsonder circles away.
Gutierrez is looking to clinch but Backsonder is avoiding it.
Gutierrez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gutierrez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Backsonder does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Gutierrez is just content to waste time from the top position. Backsonder takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Gutierrez wants to control from the top but Backsonder keeps moving. Backsonder is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Gutierrez frees his head nicely. Oh but Backsonder has switched to an armbar! Gutierrez is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
