Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Arthur Meighen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kasper Kessler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kessler has chosen Black Eyed Peas - I Got A Feeling as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Arthur Meighen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kasper Kessler! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kessler scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Good work by Kessler as he checks the leg kick. Arthur Meighen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kessler moves out of range of the strikes. Meighen cracks Kessler with an open hand slap. Meighen motions for Kessler to come forward. Meighen throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. A telegraphed right hand from Meighen misses the target. Kessler uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Meighen. Excellent takedown into side control there by Kessler. Kessler throws a strike aimed at the side of Meighen's head but Meighen avoids it well. Kessler wants to control but Meighen is keeping him busy. Kessler has knee on belly and moves into mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kessler breaks from Meighen's wrist control and lands an elbow. Kessler trying to control but Meighen is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kessler landing strikes, looking to finish! Kessler trying to control but he's not successful this time. Kessler misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
That's two minutes gone in the round. BOOM! Kessler connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Meighen is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Kessler throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Kessler looking to control but Meighen is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kessler avoids the attempt from Meighen to control. Kessler looking to ground and pound but Meighen is blocking nicely. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Meighen wants to control but Kessler is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kessler controlling from the full mount. Meighen tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kessler misses with a head shot. Kessler trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meighen is looking to improve his position but Kessler isn't that keen on the idea. Meighen wants to control but Kessler is having none of it. Kessler throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Meighen because Kessler loaded up on that one. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Meighen tries to hold on but Kessler postures up. Kessler can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Meighen is looking to escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kasper Kessler dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Kessler checks the leg kick. Kessler throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kessler throws a series of punches but Meighen moves out of range. Kessler fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Meighen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Kessler takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Kessler takes one to the side of the head.
Meighen misses the jab. Meighen fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Kessler with a jab. No joy there for Kessler, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kessler keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Meighen. Kessler with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Meighen to score with a decent uppercut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Meighen comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kessler throws a nice looking combination but Meighen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Meighen gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Kessler tries to bum rush Meighen with a series of wild strikes but Meighen uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Kessler uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Meighen. Kessler shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Kessler is pressing down on Meighen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Meighen is holding on for now. Kessler misses with a head shot. Meighen uses the momentum to regain guard. Kessler throwing strikes but missing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kessler missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Kessler trying to control but Meighen is working from the bottom. Kessler throwing strikes from guard but Meighen blocks nicely. Kessler trying to control but Meighen is working from the bottom. Kessler postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kessler tries to free his leg and advance position but Meighen is retaining full guard. Kessler throws an elbow that misses. Meighen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kessler's guard. Nice move by Meighen! Kessler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kessler controlling the position. Kasper Kessler has got the better of the ground game so far. Kessler working a defensive guard here.
Kessler is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Meighen dives into side control.
Kessler is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Meighen's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kessler is trying is best to control the position here. Meighen is controlling the pace.
Kessler looking for submissions off his back. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kessler is doing well to control the position and prevent Meighen from advancing to side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kasper Kessler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Meighen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Meighen misses the jab. Meighen misses with an attempted mid kick.
Kessler feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Kessler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meighen swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kessler postures up in Meighen's guard and throws a big left but Meighen blocks it. Kessler trying to control but Meighen is working from the bottom. Kessler might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Meighen kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Kessler postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kessler wants to pass the guard but Meighen is keeping the position. Kessler trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Kessler wants to control from the top but Meighen keeps moving. Meighen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Kessler cracks Meighen with a solid left hand. Kessler postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Meighen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kessler, into his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meighen engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Meighen decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kessler, up you get! Meighen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kessler stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Meighen misses with a right hand and Kessler counters with a nice body shot. Kessler throws out a leg kick but Meighen moves out of range and Kessler only half commits. Meighen turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meighen slips under a jab from Kessler. Kessler thows a body shot but no joy. Meighen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Meighen clobbers Kessler with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Meighen throws a leg kick and Kessler counters with a left to the body. Kessler throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Meighen shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Arthur Meighen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kessler misses with a body shot.
Meighen throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Meighen throws a head kick that misses. Arthur Meighen is winning the standup battle so far. Kessler gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Meighen. A lazy body kick from Meighen and Kessler counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Meighen avoids the body shot from Kessler.
A combination from Meighen does no damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meighen lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Meighen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kessler takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Kessler throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Meighen. Kessler ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Meighen moves away. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Meighen throws the left hand but Kessler avoids the punch easily. Meighen dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Kessler is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Meighen rather than just go for the knockout. Meighen is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Kasper Kessler is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Kessler scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Meighen doesn't seem bothered though. Meighen misses with a body shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Meighen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kessler. Kessler avoids a punch combination nicely.
Meighen missing with a left hand there. Kessler was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Arthur Meighen. I think Kessler has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
