Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Somuch Hate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hate moves into the clinch.
Hate lands an elbow inside.
It looks like Jim Rock has been cut.
Rock pulls Hate into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Hate is stalling in the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hate stops Rock from standing up.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Somuch Hate wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Rock, as that shot connected.
Hate tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rock paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hate scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Hate is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Rock will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

We're going to have a standup here because Somuch Hate wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Rock drives through and clinches with Hate against the cage.

Rock breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hate looking to score a takedown here. Rock is defending well but Hate drives through and ends up in Rock's guard.
Hate seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Hate slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Rock is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hate has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Rock gets back to half guard.
Hate takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Hate pushes Rock up against the cage in a clinch.

Hate is pushing Rock up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Hate lands a good knee to the midsection. Rock won't want to take too many of those.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rock wants to take the fight to the mat but Hate manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Rock pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Rock tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Hate gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hate shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rock as he avoids it easily.
Rock has closed the distance and engaged Hate in a clinch.

Hate is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Rock is defending well for now.

Hate drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Rock gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Hate tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Hate's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Rock shoots in looking for a takedown but Hate manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rock's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hate wants to clinch but Rock slips to the side
and Rock counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Hate.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hate moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Somuch Hate overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hate has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rock looks to move to half guard but instead Hate has passed into mount! Damn!

Rock wants to hold on but Hate pushes him away.
Rock keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Rock tries to bum rush Hate with a series of wild strikes but Hate uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hate shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Hate works to advance to full mount. Rock defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Hate tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rock manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Hate seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rock for as long as he can get away with.

Somuch Hate has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Hate shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Rock eats them both and turns towards Hate to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hate looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hate shoots in but Rock avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hate will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Somuch Hate is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Hate stuffs the takedown attempt from Rock. Rock gets slowly back to his feet.
Rock gets tackled into the cage by Hate. Hate maintains the clinch.
Hate lands a knee to the head.
Rock prevents a takedown attempt there.

Well Hate has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
