Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steven Montgomery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Tank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steven Montgomery! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tom Tank! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tank doesn't succeed with the takedown and Montgomery counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Montgomery. Tank working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Montgomery doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Montgomery manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Tank tries to land a sweep but no joy. Tank striking off his back, scoring a few points. Montgomery thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Montgomery might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Montgomery's corner is telling him to maintain position. Tank is trying to control the position but Montgomery postures up. Montgomery content to stall in guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tank wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tank wants to stand but Montgomery is controlling the position. Montgomery postures up.
We're going to have a standup here because Steven Montgomery wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Tank misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Montgomery fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tank tries to close the distance and clinch but Montgomery swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Tank doesn't succeed with the takedown and Montgomery counters with a nice kick to the body. Steven Montgomery has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Tank. Tank looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Montgomery shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Montgomery stays in close to Tank's body and controls the position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Montgomery knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tank on the ground.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Steven Montgomery. Montgomery feints a jab promting Tank to slip. Montgomery then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Tank slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Montgomery fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tank sprawls well initially but Montgomery persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Montgomery with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Montgomery's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Tank is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Montgomery has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Steven Montgomery just wasn't active enough. Montgomery is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Tank's half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Montgomery controlling the pace. Tank is trying to get back to full guard. Tank is defending against the submission attempts here by Montgomery.
This has been an exciting period of action! Still in half guard, Montgomery seems content to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tank throws a right and a left that Montgomery avoids nicely. Sloppy strikes from Tank. Those never looked like landing. Tank gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Montgomery to score an easy takedown into full guard. Tank is trying to keep Montgomery in close.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Montgomery's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Tank looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Montgomery slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Montgomery throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tank was covering up waiting for the punch and Montgomery finishes the takedown easily into guard. Montgomery sitting in guard here, content to control. Montgomery seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tank for as long as he can get away with.

Steven Montgomery has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Tank takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Montgomery drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Montgomery landing with the ground and pound. Tank has a closed guard, preventing Montgomery from standing up. Montgomery stays in close to Tank's body and controls the position. Montgomery postures up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Montgomery advances position into side control! Montgomery is looking to take a break and control but Tank is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tank throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Montgomery's waist but Montgomery gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tank off to one side. Steven Montgomery is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Montgomery shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Tank is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Tank is trying to control but Montgomery passes into side control!
Tank takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Montgomery controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Tank's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Montgomery tries to move to mount but Tank blocks the move with his legs. Tank is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Montgomery in particular looking to stall. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Montgomery shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tank sprawls well. Tank wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Montgomery gets slowly back to his feet. Tank keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Tank is looking to clinch but Montgomery is avoiding it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Montgomery lands a head kick. Tank smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Tank bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Tank throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Montgomery's waist but Montgomery gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tank off to one side. Montgomery tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tank swats him away and circles back towards the center. Tank closes the distance looking to clinch and Montgomery counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
It looks like Tom Tank has been cut. Montgomery closes the distance and clinches up with Tank, looking for a takedown. Montgomery pushes Tank against the cage but Tank circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steven Montgomery. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tank keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Tank rushes Montgomery and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tank is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Tank has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Montgomery is looking for a takedown. Tank tries to land a knee to the head but Montgomery blocks with his arms.
Montgomery jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tank walks away with a smile on his face. Montgomery gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Montgomery tries to keep at a distance but Tank has taken the fight into the clinch. Tank gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tank missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Tom Tank. I think Montgomery has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
