Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rylan Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathaniel Price (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Price comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Thunderstruck kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rylan Hunter is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rylan Hunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nathaniel Price!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hunter throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Price was covering up waiting for the punch and Hunter finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Price is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Price manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hunter manages to get himself to full guard.
Price slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Hunter is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Price trying to control but Hunter is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Price throws a big elbow that misses.
Hunter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Price tries to free his leg and advance position but Hunter is retaining full guard.
Price in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hunter throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Price stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hunter swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Price postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Price sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Hunter is pulling down on Price's head. It's preventing any offense from Price, at least for the moment.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Nathaniel Price hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Price defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hunter.
Nice takedown defense from Hunter. No joy for Price on that attempt.

Price darts in and clinches Hunter up against the cage.
Price leaning his opponent against the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Price is trying to maintain a safe position but Hunter gets an underhook and turns Price into the cage.

Price jumps into guard, dragging Hunter to the mat.
Hunter won't allow Price to sweep him here.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Price is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Price tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hunter knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hunter on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hunter tries to get out of the position.

Price seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Hunter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hunter is refusing to be controlled, as Price sits in half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Nathaniel Price.
Price wants to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hunter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hunter has a takedown stuffed.
Hunter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Price tries to avoid it but Hunter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Price to the ground. Price escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Price goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Price tries for a takedown but Hunter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Price swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hunter.
Price shoots in but no luck this time.

and Hunter counters by clinching up.
Rylan Hunter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nathaniel Price.
Price jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hunter walks away with a smile on his face. Price gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Price darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hunter trying to control here.
Price wants to pass to mount but Hunter is defending the position.
Hunter is looking to improve his position.
Hunter is in trouble now - Price has advanced to mount!
Hunter is squirming around, avoiding Price's attempts to control the action.

Price controlling from mount.
Hunter has given up his back here.
Hunter can't escape the position.

Nathaniel Price has got the better of the ground game so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Price looking to hold on to the position here but Hunter rolls and ends up regaining guard.
Price tries to free his leg and advance position but Hunter is retaining full guard.

Price slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Hunter has his foot on Price's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Price works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Price wants to control from the top but Hunter keeps moving.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Hunter had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Price defends it easily.
Hunter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Price on the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hunter utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nathaniel Price showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Hunter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Price darts in and clinches Hunter up against the cage.
Hunter is trying to drag Price to the mat but Price just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Hunter tries for a takedown. No joy.

Price jumps into guard, dragging Hunter to the mat.
Hunter tries to stand but Price is controlling from the bottom.
Price looking for a sweep. Not yet Price, not yet.

Price uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Price has a takedown stuffed.

and Hunter counters with a nice double leg into side control. Price won't be happy with that.

Price manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Hunter seems to be looking for submissions.
Hunter wants to take a breather but Price is having none of it.

Price manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Price shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hunter as he jumps to the side.
Rylan Hunter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nathaniel Price.
Price takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hunter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Hunter landing punches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hunter moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Price has worked his arm free - good work by Price!

Price is trying to control Hunter's posture but Hunter avoids it.

Price manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hunter's best efforts.
Price tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Price manages to get to full guard.
Hunter trying to control the position from guard on top but Price is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Price is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Nathaniel Price has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Price keeps the fight on the outside.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Price closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hunter did well to prevent Price getting side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hunter has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Price uses from the top position.

Hunter drives through and clinches with Price against the cage.

Price has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hunter is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Hunter tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Price smiles and moves away.
Price is looking to clinch.
Hunter fails in his attempt to clinch.

Hunter tries for a takedown but Price sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rylan Hunter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hunter gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Price counters with a head kick. That will keep Hunter thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Price is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Hunter is trying to hold Price in close to prevent damage but Price has managed to pass into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hunter has a hand on Price's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Price takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Price is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hunter has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Hunter reaches up to try and control the position but Price seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Hunter rolls and tries to escape and now Price has his back!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Price lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close fourth round but Nathaniel Price will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's time! Hunter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Price sneaks out the side door and pushes Hunter away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Price dives in and grabs Hunter's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hunter pushes down on Price's head and hops out.
Hunter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Price sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hunter somewhat.
Price shoots in looking for a takedown. Hunter tries to sprawl out of it but Price keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hunter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hunter fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Price shoots in but Hunter avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Price wants to clinch up but Hunter keeps it at a distance.
Hunter throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Price's waist but Price gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hunter off to one side.

Hunter tries to sprawl but Price drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Price trying to control the action but Hunter is working from the bottom.
Price is controlling the pace.

Price throws a sloppy head kick and Hunter moves out of range easily.

Nathaniel Price comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Price winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
