Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gable Stanton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jo Edwin!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stanton looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Edwin!
Edwin can't escape the position.

The referee warns Edwin that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Edwin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stanton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Stanton has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Edwin's face.

Stanton with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stanton tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Edwin is wriggling around trying to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stanton is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Edwin has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Stanton avoids the attempt from Edwin to control.
Stanton trying to control but Edwin is having none of it.

Edwin is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Stanton fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Edwin tries to hold on but Stanton postures up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Stanton cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Stanton jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Edwin is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Edwin and Stanton has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Stanton looks for a takedown but Edwin sprawls well.
Edwin tries to clinch but Stanton is having none of it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Edwin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Edwin drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Edwin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Stanton is fending him off so far but Edwin persists. Nope, Stanton circles away and we're back to standing.
Edwin wants to clinch up but Stanton keeps it at a distance.

Edwin has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Edwin there as he acknowledges the shot.
Edwin shoots in for a takedown but Stanton shows good takedown defense.
Gable Stanton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jo Edwin.
A clash of legs there as Stanton blocks the low kick.
Edwin wants to clinch up but Stanton keeps it at a distance.
Stanton shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Edwin sprawls well. Edwin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Stanton gets slowly back to his feet.
Edwin shoots in looking for a takedown. Stanton tries to sprawl out of it but Edwin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stanton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A left and a right from Stanton both land. Nice combination.

Edwin shoots for a double leg takedown but Stanton sprawls well. He's pushed Edwin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Stanton counters with a takedown into side control.
Stanton controls the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Edwin tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Stanton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Stanton wants to control but Edwin is keeping him busy.
Stanton is really struggling to control Edwin but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Stanton creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Edwin tries to strike but it doesn't land.

Stanton looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Edwin pushes Stanton away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Stanton gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Stanton looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Edwin is looking for a sweep. Stanton is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Stanton shoots in for a takedown but Edwin shows good takedown defense.
Stanton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Edwin tries to avoid it but Stanton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Edwin to the ground. Edwin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Edwin has his foot on Stanton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stanton works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Edwin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Stanton decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Stanton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Edwin circles away.
Edwin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Stanton is fending him off so far but Edwin persists. Nope, Stanton circles away and we're back to standing.

Stanton gets tackled into the cage by Edwin. Edwin maintains the clinch.
Edwin jumps guard but Stanton stands there with Edwin around his waist. Edwin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Stanton tries for a takedown. No joy.

Edwin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gable Stanton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Edwin cracks Stanton with a good jab.
Stanton keeps the fight on the outside.
Edwin pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Stanton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Stanton not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Stanton prevents Edwin from getting back to his feet.

Edwin looking for subs off his back but Stanton has passed one foot through into half guard.
Stanton is taking a breather. Edwin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Edwin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stanton is working away from the top position though.

Stanton seems to be looking for submissions.
Stanton slips a nice elbow through Edwin's hands, connecting with Edwin's forehead.
Stanton works his way into full mount!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gable Stanton showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stanton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
