Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Fourie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jambo Liddel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fourie comes to the cage accompanied by ''Not Afraid'' by Eminem. Liddel has chosen Steve Aoki - Pursuit of Happiness (REMIX) as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Fourie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jambo Liddel! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fourie shoots for a takedown but Liddel saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Liddel steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Fourie. Fourie with a poor takedown and Liddel counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Liddel closes the distance and clinches. Liddel controlling the action here for a moment.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Liddel. Liddel stalls. Liddel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Liddel works over Fourie's head and body with a nice combination. Liddel defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fourie. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Fourie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Liddel swats away the attempt to clinch by Fourie. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fourie. Liddel closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Liddel leaning against his opponent.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Jambo Liddel. Fourie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Liddel but Liddel pushes him off and we're back to square one. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fourie is defended easily by Liddel.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fourie throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Liddel throws a hook to the side of Fourie's head but Fourie sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Jambo Liddel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Fourie looks for a takedown but Liddel sprawls well. The fight stays on the outside here - Fourie looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Liddel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fourie circles away quickly and effectively. Fourie moves to clinch but Liddel breaks away and Liddel counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Liddel. A knee to the head by Liddel.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Liddel keeps the fight on the outside. Fourie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Liddel but Liddel pushes him off and we're back to square one. Fourie darts in trying to clinch and Liddel counters with a two punch combo. Some wild striking there from Liddel.
Liddel misses the shot to the body. Liddel scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Liddel has managed to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fourie jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Liddel walks away with a smile on his face. Fourie gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Fourie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Liddel's waist but Liddel gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fourie off to one side. Alexander Fourie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fourie closes the distance and clinches up with Liddel, looking for a takedown. Fourie pushes Liddel against the cage but Liddel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Liddel gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Fourie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Liddel is adopting a defensive guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fourie drops back, looking for a kneebar! Liddel looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Liddel looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Liddel! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jambo Liddel dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Fourie darts in trying to clinch and Liddel cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Fourie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Fourie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Liddel defends it well. Liddel wants to control but Fourie is keeping busy.
Liddel is pressing down on Fourie's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fourie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Liddel manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Fourie has Liddel in his guard. Liddel not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Liddel trying to control but Fourie is working from the bottom. Fourie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Liddel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Liddel looking to pass the guard. Fourie looking for a guillotine here but Liddel defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Liddel wants to control from the top but Fourie keeps moving. Fourie looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Liddel passes into half guard.
Liddel is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fourie is just riding it out for now. Liddel eventually gives up the hold. Liddel seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fourie won't allow Liddel to pass to mount. Fourie is pressing down on Liddel's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Liddel advances position into side control! Liddel is looking to take a break and control but Fourie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Liddel gets to mount! Fourie was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Fourie is trying to escape the mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Liddel trying to control but he's not successful this time. Liddel prevents Fourie from getting the reversal. Liddel looking to control and managing it successfully. Fourie keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Liddel gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The fighters circling - Fourie throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Fourie throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Liddel throws a head kick that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jambo Liddel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Fourie moves to clinch but Liddel breaks away and Liddel makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Fourie takes one to the side of the head.
Jambo Liddel seems to be getting the better of the standup. Nice takedown defense from Liddel. No joy for Fourie on that attempt. Liddel is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Fourie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Liddel swivels and escapes. No luck for Fourie with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Fourie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Liddel swinging wildly here.
Liddel throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fourie sees it coming and avoids it easily. Fourie has a takedown stuffed. Fourie fails to land the takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Liddel. Those never looked like landing. Fourie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Liddel is fending him off so far but Fourie persists. Nope, Liddel circles away and we're back to standing. Alexander Fourie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Fourie doesn't succeed with the takedown and Liddel counters with a straight right hand. Fourie thows a body shot but no joy. Fourie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Liddel pinned against the cage. Liddel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Fourie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Liddel but Liddel pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A combination from Liddel does no damage. Liddel lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Fourie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Liddel circles away. Fourie keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Liddel throws a leg kick and Fourie counters with a takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Liddel struggling a bit here. Fourie swings around for an armbar but Liddel sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Fourie's guard. Fourie lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Liddel! Liddel tries to hold on but Fourie pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fourie jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Liddel is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Liddel and Fourie has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Liddel is trying to control Fourie's posture but Fourie avoids it. Fourie tries to get to his feet but Liddel is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Fourie in his guard. Liddel is controlling Fourie's posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Liddel lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Fourie! Liddel prevents Fourie from getting the reversal. Liddel controlling his opponent. Fourie is desperately trying to improve his position but Liddel has a good base and remains in mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Liddel stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Alexander Fourie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Fourie takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
And that's the end of the fight! Jambo Liddel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Liddel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
