The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooker feints and as Shcholkin raises his hands in defense, Hooker changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hooker is pushing down on Shcholkin's leg trying to pass to half guard. Shcholkin is fighting to maintain full guard but Hooker has managed to sneak the leg through.
Shcholkin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hooker on the ground.
Shcholkin is in trouble now - Hooker has advanced to mount!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hooker lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Hooker quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Hooker but it's paid off an Shcholkin is forced to tap! Nice work by Hooker.
