The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mangabeira doesn't manage to clinch there - Santiago circles away.
Santiago avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Santiago connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Mangabeira momentarily.

Santiago has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Santiago has a takedown stuffed.
Mangabeira tries to close the distance and clinch but Santiago swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Santiago tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mangabeira swivels and escapes.
Rodrigo Mangabeira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antonio Santiago.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mangabeira looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mangabeira displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Santiago throws out the jab.

Santiago looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Santiago misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Mangabeira is pressed up against the cage. Santiago has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mangabeira down to the mat. Mangabeira avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Mangabeira lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Mangabeira swings away with an uppercut that misses.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Santiago tries for a takedown but Mangabeira sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Santiago shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Santiago showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Santiago is looking for a kimura but Mangabeira is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Santiago to get the leverage.
Mangabeira is concentrating on defense, preventing Santiago from advancing position.
Mangabeira tries to roll over but Santiago keeps him under control.
Santiago thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Mangabeira is looking for a sweep. Santiago is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Santiago maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Mangabeira could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Santiago has cracked it and Mangabeira is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Santiago!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Antonio Santiago!
A very excited looking Antonio Santiago rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
