The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galt tries a head kick but it misses.
Holmbom doesn't manage to clinch there - Galt circles away.
Galt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Holmbom lands a head kick. Galt smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Holmbom closes the distance and clinches.

Galt avoids the elbow strike from Holmbom, against the cage.
Holmbom pushes off an throws an elbow but Galt leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Galt lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Holmbom backwards.

Galt is looking to control Holmbom's arms but Holmbom gets an underhook and turns him. Now Galt has his back to the cage.

Galt has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Holmbom uses from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Galt wants to sweep but no luck.
Galt will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Galt has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Holmbom can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Galt looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Galt can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Holmbom is looking to escape.

Galt is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Holmbom has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Holmbom!

Holmbom really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Galt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Galt is looking for a sweep. Holmbom is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Johannah Holmbom wasn't active enough on the ground.

Holmbom wants to clinch up but Galt keeps it at a distance.

Johannah Holmbom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Galt clinches up against the cage.
Galt avoids a wild elbow strike from Holmbom.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Galt escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Holmbom throws a head kick but Galt moves out of range.

Galt takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Galt throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Holmbom blocks it with crossed arms.
Galt pushes Holmbom back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

It looks like Johannah Holmbom has been cut.
Galt lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Still in the clinch, Galt scores with a nice short uppercut.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Holmbom just misses with a elbow thrown towards Galt's brow.
Holmbom lands an elbow just above Galt 's eye.
Holmbom creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Galt's defenses.
Galt has Holmbom pushed against the cage.
Galt cracks Holmbom with a nice body shot.
Galt landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Galt's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

That has opened up Johannah Holmbom's cut even more.

Galt pulls guard successfully.
Holmbom seems to have recovered his senses.
Holmbom wants to stand and escape but instead Galt has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
