Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Dinero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greek Gyros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gyros has chosen Greek Gyros as his entrance music. Greek Gyros will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andrew Dinero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greek Gyros!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dinero tries for a takedown but Gyros circles away easily

and Gyros counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Dinero!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dinero's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Greek Gyros wasn't active enough on the ground.
Gyros lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dinero circles away quickly and effectively.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Dinero closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gyros to the mat! Gyros manages to get full guard.
Gyros is trying to control the position but Dinero postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Greek Gyros has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Gyros shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dinero napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Dinero pushes Gyros away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gyros gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Greek Gyros hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Gyros decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dinero's guard.

Gyros throws a series of punches but Dinero avoids them all with ease.

Gyros feints and as Dinero raises his hands in defense, Gyros changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dinero keeping moving, preventing Gyros from controlling successfully.
Gyros stands up over Dinero, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Gyros has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Gyros pushes down on Dinero's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Greek Gyros has got the better of the ground game so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Greek Gyros showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Dinero looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gyros is fending him off so far but Dinero persists. Nope, Gyros circles away and we're back to standing.

Dinero drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gyros dives on top into guard.
Gyros wants to pass the guard but Dinero is keeping the position.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Gyros won't allow Dinero to get back to his feet.

Dinero kicks Gyros off and gets back to his feet.

Dinero changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gyros looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Dinero thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Gyros is trying to improve his position.

Gyros bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Dinero.
Dinero throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Greek Gyros comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gyros has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
