Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Paul Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Witter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Stewart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Junior Witter! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Witter moves into the clinch successfully.
Witter jumps guard and drags Stewart to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Stewart trying to control the position from guard on top but Witter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Witter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stewart. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Stewart passes Witter's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Stewart missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Stewart controlling the action here. Witter is in trouble now - Stewart has advanced to mount! Stewart thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Witter is working to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stewart gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Stewart misses with a takedown attempt - Witter sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Witter throws a right and a left that Stewart avoids nicely. Junior Witter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Witter tries to close the distance and clinch but Stewart swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Stewart shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Witter as he avoids it easily. Witter lands a nice shot to the body.
Stewart fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Stewart. That's going to take a lot out of him. Witter stuffs the takedown attempt from Stewart. Stewart gets slowly back to his feet. Witter looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Stewart is fending him off so far but Witter persists. Nope, Stewart circles away and we're back to standing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stewart keeps the fight on the outside. Stewart gets tackled into the cage by Witter. Witter maintains the clinch. Stewart wants a takedown but no success here.
Stewart tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Witter just stands there and leans against the cage. Witter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Witter tries to clinch up but Stewart circles away and keeps his distance. Stewart drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Witter is trying to control Stewart's posture but Stewart avoids it. Witter tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Stewart wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Witter is trying to control Stewart's posture but Stewart avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Witter tries to bench press Stewart off him but Stewart keeps the position. Stewart moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Stewart wants to control but Witter is keeping him busy. Stewart is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Witter is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stewart works to advance to full mount. Witter defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Witter tries to improve his position but instead Stewart has taken his back! Witter just trying to survive but Stewart is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Witter won't enjoy being in this position. Stewart looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Witter is tapping - it's over boys! Stewart picks up the submission victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Paul Stewart!
