Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Starbuck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eli Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eli Hunter has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Starbuck! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eli Hunter! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hunter scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Starbuck fails with a takedown attempt. Starbuck slips a jab and a cross from Hunter.
Starbuck shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hunter sprawls well. Hunter wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Starbuck gets slowly back to his feet. Hunter throws a right and a left that both miss. Starbuck avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Starbuck shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hunter as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Starbuck. That's going to take a lot out of him. Starbuck shoots in but Hunter avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hunter pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Hunter bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. A bone on bone clash there as Starbuck blocks the leg kick.
Hunter lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like Mike Starbuck has been cut. Hunter throws a looping overhand right but Starbuck ducks down to avoid it. Hunter misses with a few strikes there.
Hunter throws a head kick that misses. Hunter looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Starbuck uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hunter.

A punch combination from Hunter misses. Hunter shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Starbuck tries to bum rush Hunter with a series of wild strikes but Hunter uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hunter tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Starbuck is able to avoid easily. Starbuck showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hunter.
Hunter is looking to land body kicks. Hunter lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hunter.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hunter throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Starbuck shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hunter as he jumps to the side. Starbuck shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hunter but Hunter pushes him off and we're back to square one. Hunter fails to land with a series of punches.

and Starbuck counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hunter's guard now. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Starbuck drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Starbuck jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Starbuck is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Starbuck drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Starbuck jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Starbuck wants to pass the guard but Hunter is keeping the position. Starbuck drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hunter dives on top into guard. Hunter wants to get up but he can't break Starbuck's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hunter obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Hunter throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Hunter throws a right and a left that Starbuck avoids nicely. Hunter throws a combination. Starbuck tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Horrible takedown by Starbuck or perhaps it was just good defense by Hunter which made him look bad. Hunter falls off balance throwing a combination

That's one minute gone in the round. Starbuck tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Starbuck has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Starbuck tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Starbuck is trying to get an arm triangle but Hunter is defending well. Starbuck thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Starbuck prevents Hunter from escaping the position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Starbuck thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Starbuck has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Hunter!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Starbuck looking to control but Hunter is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Starbuck looking to secure an arm triangle but Hunter defends it well. Starbuck is working for a guillotine from mount but Hunter frees his head quite easily.
Starbuck with a couple of short strikes. Starbuck is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Hunter has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Hunter!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hunter has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Starbuck is proving hard to escape from. Starbuck has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hunter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Starbuck looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Hunter lands with a hook. Starbuck tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Danga de danga de dang - Hunter scores with a four punch combination!

No luck with that takedown attempt from Starbuck. Hunter throws a series of punches but Starbuck avoids them all with ease. Hunter jabs Starbuck right on the nose. Starbuck blinks but takes it well. Eli Hunter seems to be getting the better of the standup. Hunter throws a head kick that misses. Eli Hunter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hunter throws a good cross that connects.
Starbuck closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Starbuck lands in his opponent's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Starbuck pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hunter is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Starbuck drops back looking for a leg! Hunter is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hunter manages to kick Starbuck off! Starbuck jumps back into Hunter's guard. Starbuck is pushing down on Hunter's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hunter is fighting to maintain full guard but Starbuck has managed to sneak the leg through. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Starbuck passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hunter! Starbuck trying to control but he's not successful this time. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hunter can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Starbuck is really struggling to control Hunter but he's trying to hold on to the position. Hunter is trying to stand up. Starbuck misses with a head shot. Starbuck has hold of Hunter's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hunter manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Starbuck fails to advance to Hunter's back.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Eli Hunter. I think Hunter has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
