Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raive Malapitan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
24 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Fatts! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fatts cracks Malapitan with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
It looks like Raive Malapitan has been cut. Malapitan misses with a few strikes there.
Fatts thuds his right hand into Malapitan's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Malapitan gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Fatts gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Malapitan trying to control but Fatts is working from the bottom. Fatts looking to hit a scissor sweep but Malapitan is one step ahead there. Fatts keeping moving, preventing Malapitan from controlling successfully. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Fatts looking for a guillotine here but Malapitan defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Malapitan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Malapitan preventing the sweep. Fatts controls Malapitan momentarily but Malapitan frees himself. Fatts seems keen to control Malapitan's posture. Fatts looking for a sweep. Not yet Fatts, not yet. Fatts pulls Malapitan in to control the position.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jay Fatts wasn't active enough on the ground. Fatts lands a jab to the head.
Fatts thuds a left hand into Malapitan's body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fatts shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Malapitan is in all sorts of trouble here.
Fatts wants to control the pace but Malapitan is squirming around nicely. Malapitan can't escape the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Fatts with the ground and pound from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Malapitan is working to get back to half guard.
Malapitan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fatts on the ground. Fatts pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Malapitan is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Fatts avoids the attempt from Malapitan to control. BOOM! Fatts connects with a massive shot to the dome!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fatts with shots to the head and body - Malapitan looks very uncomfortable down there. Fatts pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Malapitan taking shots to the head. Fatts lands a big shot to the head and Malapitan winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
