The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Honda looks to score with a jab to the body but Cormier is just out of range.
Honda connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
A combination from Cormier does no damage.
Cormier looks to land a combination but Honda avoids it well.
Cormier shoots in for a takedown but Honda shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Daniel Cormier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cormier lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Honda circles away quickly and effectively.
Cormier doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Honda fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cormier looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

No joy there for Cormier, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Honda has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Honda wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Cormier shoots for a takedown but Honda saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Cormier takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Are you kidding me?! Honda ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Cormier clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
