That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Taranowski with a poor takedown and Malaki connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Malaki closes the distance and clinches. Malaki lands a shot to the body. Malaki is working Taranowski over against the cage. Malaki lands with a short shot to the head. Malaki slowing the pace effectively. Taranowski tries to circle away but Malaki has him pinned against the cage. Taranowski looking for a takedown. Malaki lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Taranowski backwards.

Taranowski is rocked! Malaki is defending well against a takedown attempt. Taranowski is still on wobbly legs! Can Malaki finish him? Yancy Malaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michal Taranowski. Malaki will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Taranowski up against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Malaki breaks the clinch.
Malaki fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Taranowski to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Taranowski looks to clinch but Malaki throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Taranowski taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Yancy Malaki! Yancy Malaki really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that KAISER logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
