The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Burnett. That snapped Saito's head back.
Burnett scores with a jab. Saito acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Saito throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Burnett is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

enabling Burnett to counter with a crisp jab.
Saito tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Burnett pushes Saito up against the cage in a clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Saito tries to pull guard but Burnett won't allow it.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Saito is looking for a triangle but Burnett pushes his legs off easily.
Saito looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Burnett wants to get up but he can't break Saito's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Burnett trying to control the position from guard on top but Saito is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Burnett really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Saito. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Saito is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Burnett is posturing up here but Saito has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Burnett tries to roll out but it's too tight and Burnett has to tap! Slick submission there by Saito!
