Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ben Bitag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mak Frajd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mak Frajd told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ben Bitag! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mak Frajd! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frajd misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bitag dodges the punch combination from Frajd.
Bitag changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Frajd tries to avoid it but Bitag manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Frajd to the ground. Frajd escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Frajd scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bitag doesn't seem bothered though. Frajd misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bitag closes the distance and clinches up with Frajd, looking for a takedown. Bitag pushes Frajd against the cage but Frajd circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Frajd stuffs the takedown attempt from Bitag. Bitag gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ben Bitag. That's going to take a lot out of him. Frajd throws a right and a left that Bitag avoids nicely. Bitag looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Bitag avoids a punch combination nicely.
No joy there for Frajd, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Frajd throws a right and a left that Bitag avoids nicely. Mak Frajd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Frajd lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bitag circles away quickly and effectively. Frajd fails to land with a series of punches.
Frajd lands with a nice combination. Bitag backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Ben Bitag has been cut. Frajd rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bitag moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bitag showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Frajd.
Frajd looks gassed! Horrible takedown by Bitag or perhaps it was just good defense by Frajd which made him look bad. Frajd misses with a double jab
and Bitag counters with a takedown into side control. Bitag is putting a hurting on Frajd here, landing some big shots from side control. Bitag trying to control the action but Frajd is working from the bottom. Frajd is trying to get back to half guard. Frajd takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Frajd tries to buck Bitag off but Bitag is having none of it. Frajd manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Bitag tries to roll over but Frajd keeps him under control. Bitag is working hard here to advance position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Frajd wants to pass to mount but Bitag is defending the position. Frajd is looking for a kimura but Bitag is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Frajd to get the leverage. Frajd is keen to just control but Bitag is a slippery customer. Frajd is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Frajd not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Frajd has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Bitag really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bitag tries to lock up and control but Frajd gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Frajd has hold of Bitag's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bitag manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Bitag throwing hammer fists to the chest of Frajd. What's that going to do exactly? Bitag regains half guard. Bitag is pressing down on Frajd's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Frajd is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Bitag is trying to keep Frajd in close.
Frajd sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bitag's guard. Frajd seems to be looking for submissions.

Frajd working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Frajd is looking for a kimura here.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Frajd is looking for a kimura but Bitag is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Frajd to get the leverage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Frajd seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mak Frajd dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ben Bitag's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Frajd lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bitag circles away quickly and effectively. Bitag with a lazy takedown attempt and Frajd counters with a three punch combo that has Bitag backing up. Bitag nods at Frajd to acknowledge the strikes. Sloppy strikes from Frajd. Those never looked like landing. Frajd throws a head kick that misses. Bitag will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Bitag blocks a jab. Frajd digs a good hook to Bitag's body.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Bitag shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Bitag shoots and misses and Frajd makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Frajd throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bitag. Frajd swinging wildly here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Frajd misses with the combination.
Bitag dives in and grabs Frajd's left leg, looking for a takedown. Frajd pushes down on Bitag's head and hops out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bitag shoots in and drives through. Frajd sprawls well. Frajd looks to land a combination but Bitag avoids it well. Frajd throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

This has been an exciting period of action! Frajd bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bitag's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Frajd accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ben Bitag overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bitag can't keep his opponent in guard - Frajd advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Bitag wants to control but Frajd is keeping busy.
Frajd is trying to control. Bitag wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Bitag keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Frajd is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bitag doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Frajd. Frajd is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bitag has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bitag is trying to stand back up but Frajd is controlling him
Bitag is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Frajd's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Frajd's back! Frajd tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Frajd is trying to escape the mount.
Frajd is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Frajd gets back to half guard. Frajd looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Frajd is staying active underneath Bitag, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Frajd is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bitag winds up and cracks Frajd with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Frajd is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bitag pulls his head out easily. Frajd manages to get to full guard.
Bitag lands a couple of decent looking shots. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bitag is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Frajd is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bitag throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Bitag scoring with punches to the head and body. Frajd escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bitag gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mak Frajd showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Ben Bitag's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Frajd. Frajd looks up at the clock and then as Bitag takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Frajd smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Bitag tries to buck Frajd off but Frajd is having none of it. Frajd looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Bitag tries to improve position but can't. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Frajd is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Bitag looks calm but he's in trouble here. Frajd gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Bitag is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Frajd lets go of the hold and Bitag can pop his arm back in it's socket.
