Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Billy Slain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slain comes to the cage accompanied by green green grass. John Smith looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, John Smith!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slain tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Smith tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Slain swivels and escapes.

Smith is trying to break free.
Slain utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Smith tries to bum rush Slain with a series of wild strikes but Slain uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Billy Slain will probably get the nod.

That's time! Slain's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Smith shoots in for a takedown but Slain shows good takedown defense.
Slain smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Smith avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Smith dives in and grabs Slain's left leg, looking for a takedown. Slain pushes down on Smith's head and hops out.
Slain moves in looking to clinch but Smith pushes him off.

Slain feints and then cracks Smith's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Smith down.
Slain moves in looking to clinch but Smith pushes him off.

Slain tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Slain keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Slain tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance.
Slain misses with a looping left.
Smith avoids the head kick by Slain.
Smith shoots in but Slain avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Slain has taken the fight to the clinch.

Slain escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Smith shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Slain manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Slain wants to sweep but no luck.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Smith stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Slain gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
John Smith has got the better of the ground game so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith is trying to ground and pound but Slain uses the momentary lack of control by Smith to regain half guard.

Smith is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Slain defends it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Slain is trying to stand back up but Smith is controlling him
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Billy Slain will probably get the nod.

Slain throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Smith blocks it with crossed arms.

Slain misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Smith.
Smith tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Slain lands a hook that snaps the head of Smith backwards.

Slain throws an elbow but it misses.
Slain is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Slain misses with a knee strike.
Slain is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Smith is defending well for now.

Slain breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Slain doesn't manage to clinch there - Smith circles away.
Smith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Slain avoids it really well and circles away.

Slain throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Slain stuffs the takedown attempt from Smith. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
Smith takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Slain looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Billy Slain is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Slain moves in looking to clinch but Smith pushes him off.
Slain throws a head kick but Smith moves out of range.
Slain tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Smith closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Smith lands in his opponent's guard.

Smith has gone for a leg lock! Slain slips out almost immediately though and dives into Smith's guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
