The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fabiano takes the fight into the clinch.

Fabiano breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rondeccia shoots and misses
and Fabiano counters with a left and a right that stings Rondeccia.
Rondeccia doesn't succeed with the takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Rondeccia darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rondeccia keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Fabiano tries to kick Rondeccia off but Rondeccia keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Rondeccia seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Rondeccia seems to be working for a kimura but Fabiano defends the submission attempt.
Fabiano looks like he's trying to stand up.
Rondeccia tries to pass to full mount but Fabiano defends it.

Fabiano kicks Rondeccia off and gets back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rondeccia darts in trying to clinch
and Fabiano counters with a nice low kick that buckles Rondeccia's knee momentarily.

Fabiano lands a left and a right that send Rondeccia crashing to the mat, dazed. Fabiano thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Rondeccia is rocked!

It looks like Gianluigi Rondeccia has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rondeccia looks to throw a body kick
and Fabiano counters with a good, hard body kick but Rondeccia shrugs it off.
Rondeccia is still on wobbly legs! Can Fabiano finish him?
Rondeccia looks gassed!
Fabiano lands with a big right hook that stumbles Rondeccia - he's out on his feet here! Fabiano follows up with another monster hook that separates Rondeccia from consciousness! Rondeccia falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Fabiano stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
