Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tapdance Extravaganza! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Felix Rocha! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rocha scores with a push kick. Extravaganza swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Extravaganza checks a low kick from Rocha. That kick from Rocha tenderised Extravaganza's leg. Extravaganza is trying to keep his angry face on. Rocha keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Extravaganza throws a leg kick and Rocha makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Rocha defending well as Extravaganza loads up on a big left hand. Extravaganza closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rocha's guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Extravaganza with a flurry of punches that miss. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Extravaganza loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Extravaganza has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Rocha wants to stand but Extravaganza is controlling the position. Rocha really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Extravaganza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rocha can't keep his opponent in guard - Extravaganza advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Extravaganza lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Extravaganza trying to control from half guard but Rocha is working away. Extravaganza seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Extravaganza thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rocha's head. Rocha holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Extravaganza has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Extravaganza working the ground and pound effectively.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rocha is bucking up trying to escape but Extravaganza cracks him with another couple of good strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Extravaganza raining down shots from the mount! A nice elbow there by Extravaganza. Extravaganza lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Rocha hang on?
Rocha is rocked! Extravaganza loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Rocha scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Extravaganza land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Extravaganza stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tapdance Extravaganza! Tapdance Extravaganza is the new middleweight champion! Tapdance Extravaganza bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
