Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Greg Cola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grant Fairtex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greg Cola! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grant Fairtex! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Fairtex. Cola does a little dance to reset his feet. Fairtex tries to bum rush Cola with a series of wild strikes but Cola uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Nice sprawl there from Fairtex as Cola shoots in. Fairtex wants to clinch up but Cola keeps it at a distance. Cola tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fairtex paws at him with a jab and circles away. Greg Cola seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Horrible takedown by Cola or perhaps it was just good defense by Fairtex which made him look bad. Fairtex moves in looking to clinch but Cola pushes him off. Cola tries to close the distance and clinch but Fairtex swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Fairtex is looking to clinch but Cola is avoiding it.
Fairtex doesn't manage to clinch there - Cola circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cola throws a body punch but Fairtex moves out of range. Cola closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Cola jumps into guard, dragging Fairtex to the mat.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Fairtex is in close to Cola's body, working some short punches and elbows. Fairtex trying to control the position from guard on top but Cola is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cola pulls Fairtex in close to prevent any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fairtex wants to stand but Cola has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Greg Cola. Cola drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. A lull in the action here. Fairtex wants to control but Cola postures up. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee asks Cola politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Cola prefers to stall for the moment though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fairtex is trying to improve his position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Cola has an Americana. Fairtex didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Cola is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Cola hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Greg Cola!
