PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and El Camino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Camino is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Avicii - Levels in Reverse. El Camino has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny Guy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, El Camino!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Camino closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Camino controlling from side mount.
Guy is looking to reverse the position.
Camino really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Guy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Guy regains half guard.
Guy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Camino is working away from the top position though.

Guy pushes Camino off and gets back to his feet.

Guy slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Johnny Guy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A head kick misses from Guy.
Camino shoots in looking for a takedown but Guy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Camino's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Guy throws a leg kick but Camino moved away.
Guy cracks Camino with a good jab.
Guy throws a leg kick but Camino checks it.
Guy scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Camino doesn't seem bothered though.
Camino looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Guy is fending him off so far but Camino persists. Nope, Guy circles away and we're back to standing.
Guy swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sloppy strikes from Guy. Those never looked like landing.
Nice shot lands for Guy.

Guy darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Guy goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Camino drops Guy with a left and a right! Oh, Guy is hurt - Camino dives into side control looking to finish!


Guy is rocked!


It looks like Johnny Guy has been cut.
Guy tries to buck Camino off but Camino is having none of it.
Oh Guy is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Guy seems to have got his legs back now.
Guy wants to control but Camino postures up.

Camino stands up and beckons Guy to his feet.
Camino doesn't manage to clinch there - Guy circles away.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Guy lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Camino has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Camino and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Camino shoots in for a takedown but Guy shows good takedown defense.
Johnny Guy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of El Camino.
Guy scores with a jab.
Guy throws a series of punches but Camino moves out of range.
Guy throws a lazy body kick

and Camino counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Camino.
Camino prevents Guy from getting back to his feet.

Guy pushes Camino off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Guy tries to score with a low kick but Camino moves his leg out of the way.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Guy connects with the punch.
A chopping leg kick lands by Guy.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Guy.
Guy scores with a one two! Camino had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Camino shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Guy is trying to defend but Camino finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Camino looks gassed!

Camino prevents Guy from improving his position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Guy looks like he's trying to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but El Camino will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Guy leaves Camino with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Guy throws a one two combo.
Camino takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Guy gets caught napping as Camino dives in and scores a takedown. Guy manages to retain guard.
El Camino has got the better of the ground game so far.
Camino postures up.

Guy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Camino can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Guy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Camino defends well.
Guy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Guy not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Guy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Camino is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Guy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Camino stands up and waves to Guy to follow him.
Guy throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Camino counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Camino wants to get up but he can't break Guy's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Camino controls from within his opponent's guard.
Guy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Camino is controlling him.

Guy is trying to keep Camino in close.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Guy throws a leg kick but Camino moved away.

and Camino counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Guy!

Camino stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Guy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Camino throws the kick towards the body but Guy avoids it.
Guy throws a head kick that misses.
Guy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

El Camino showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Guy fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Camino checks it well.

Guy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

A frustrated look appears on Guy's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Guy misses with a knee strike.
Guy is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Camino is defending well for now.
Camino keeps control of Guy as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Guy tries to break the clinch but Camino is controlling the position.
Camino has Guy pressed against the cage, preventing Guy from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Camino avoids the elbow strike from Guy, against the cage.
Camino lands a nice elbow.

Guy wants to break the clinch but can't.
Guy takes an elbow to the forehead.
Guy is trying to break free.
Guy trying to land knees to the body.
Camino creates some distance and fires off a vicious elbow that drops Guy! He pounces and finishes the fight with more strikes! Nice KO for Camino.
