Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freeman Meyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Jeremy Cole has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jeremy Cole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Freeman Meyer!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cole tries to close the distance and clinch up but Meyer swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Meyer closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cole to the mat! Cole manages to get full guard.
Cole keeping moving, preventing Meyer from controlling successfully.
Meyer preventing the sweep.
Cole looking to control.
Cole looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Cole is working hard here to advance position.
Meyer is looking to advance position but Cole has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meyer tries to lock up and control but Cole gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
You get the feeling that Meyer really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Meyer is working to get back to half guard.

Cole can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Meyer is looking to escape.
Cole will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Meyer is trying to escape the mount.
Meyer is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cole working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Meyer really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Cole looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Meyer tries to reverse the position but Cole maintains control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Meyer wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
I really don't envy Meyer right now.
Meyer is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Meyer looks gassed!
Cole gets his hands free as Meyer looks to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Meyer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cole. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Meyer is trying to get back to his feet but Cole has full control of the position and if anything, Meyer has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Cole. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Meyer tries to roll but Cole sticks to his back.
Meyer is keeping busy.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Meyer trying to control the position but Cole manages to sink in the hooks.

Cole is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Meyer manages to reverse the position and now he's in Cole's guard. Nice work there by Meyer.
Meyer looking to sit in guard and control but Cole gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Meyer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jeremy Cole will probably get the nod.
That's time! Cole's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Meyer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cole sprawls well initially but Meyer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Meyer tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cole knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Meyer takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Cole actively working from the bottom here.
Meyer looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Meyer should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Meyer is looking for a kimura but Cole is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Meyer to get the leverage.

Meyer postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Cole to stand up.

Meyer drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Meyer in side control lands a decent elbow.
Cole is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Meyer's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Meyer throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cole has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Meyer is working away from the top position though.
Cole is looking to improve his position.
Meyer is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Meyer is trying to control the action in half guard but Cole is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Cole is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Meyer's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Meyer's back!
Cole lands strikes to the head.
Cole cracks Meyer with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Meyer from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Meyer covers up after that shot from Cole.
Cole is working the ground and pound. Can Meyer escape?


Meyer is rocked!

Cole has his arm under Meyer's chin here. Game over son! Cole squeezes tightly and Meyer is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jeremy Cole!
