Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Masahiko Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ahmad Malushev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Masahiko Kimura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ahmad Malushev!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Konstantin Menshow and Igor Prikhodko.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malushev shoots and misses
enabling Kimura to counter with a crisp jab.
Malushev tries for a takedown but Kimura circles away easily

and Kimura counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Malushev's guard now.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Kimura not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Kimura stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Malushev swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kimura with a flurry of punches that miss.
Kimura postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kimura advances position into side control!
Kimura moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Kimura seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Malushev for as long as he can get away with.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Malushev is trying to improve his position.
A control attempt from Malushev but he's now mounted!
Malushev bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Kimura pulls Malushev in close to his closed guard and prevents Malushev from doing any damage or advancing position.
Kimura bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Malushev's guard.

Kimura passes Malushev's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Kimura moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Malushev.
Malushev is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A lull in the action here.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Malushev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kimura. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

You can see the frustration on Malushev's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kimura advances to mount.
Malushev working to try and regain half guard.
Kimura controlling the position easily from mount.
Kimura connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Kimura takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Malushev tries to improve his position but Kimura has taken his back! Kimura has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Malushev tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Kimura pushes Malushev away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
