Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chase Owens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Connor Small (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Chase Owens has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chase Owens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Connor Small!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owens throws a right and a left that Small avoids nicely.
Small fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Owens to the ground. Small is now in Owens's guard.
Small gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Small has managed to clinch.
Small drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Owens gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Owens is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Small to keep the fight standing.
Small manages to break the clinch.
Small clinches with his opponent.
Owens jumps guard but Small stands there with Owens around his waist. Owens gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Owens wants to take the fight to the mat but Small manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chase Owens. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Small manages to pull guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Small has his foot on Owens's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Owens works his way back into a safe position though.

Small is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Small looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Small escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Owens gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Small working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Owens has passed into half guard!
Owens wants to control but Small is keeping him busy.
Small regains full guard. Nicely done.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Small has Owens pulled in close to control his posture.
Owens wants to pass the guard but Small is keeping the position.
Owens is breathing heavily.

Small has control of Owens's left arm, preventing Owens from doing any damage.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Owens enables Small to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Owens manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Small stays in close to Owens's body and controls the position.
Owens keeping moving, preventing Small from controlling successfully.
Small postures up.
Small advances position into side control!
Owens pushes Small away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Small gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Small lands some shots froms side control.
Small controlling from side mount.
Small is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Owens looks calm but he's in trouble here. Small gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Owens is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Small lets go of the hold and Owens can pop his arm back in it's socket.
