The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Sergei Dronov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Materla misses with a double jab.
Materla misses with a shot to the body
and Rod counters with a slapping leg kick.
Timur Rod seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Materla tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rod was well out of range. Poor timing from Materla.
Materla just misses with a punch to the body.
Materla gets caught flat footed, as Rod shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Materla looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Rod is defending well. Materla quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Rod has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Materla celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
