PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nolan Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eli Bracha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is War - The Sick Puppies. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Nolan Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eli Bracha!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin misses with a left hand
and Bracha counters with a stiff right hand.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Bracha checks a leg kick.
Bracha throws a lazy right hand but Martin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Martin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bracha's waist but Bracha gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Martin off to one side.
Bracha avoids the head kick by Martin.
Martin tries to work over Bracha's front leg with a kick but Bracha checks it.
Bracha staying out of range there.
An inside leg kick lands from Martin.
Bracha uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Martin.
Martin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bracha's waist but Bracha gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Martin off to one side.
Bracha smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Martin delivers a nice body kick.
Martin lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Bracha takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Martin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bracha's waist but Bracha gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Martin off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nolan Martin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bracha cracks Martin with a right hand to the side of the head.
Martin dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bracha. That did some damage!

Martin will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Bracha lands with a thumping leg kick.
Martin throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Bracha on the side of the head.
Martin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bracha lands with a straight right. Martin didn't see that one coming.
Nice straight punches there by Martin. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Martin.
Bracha fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Martin on the side of the head.
Martin misses with a leg kick.
Martin fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Bracha checks it well.

Martin gets the takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bracha sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Bracha has hold of Martin's hands but Martin slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Martin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Bracha wants to improve his position but Martin is controlling well.
Bracha really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Martin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bracha wants to get back to his feet.

Martin landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Bracha is trying to maintain the position but Martin is very close to passing his half guard.

BOOM! Martin connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Martin lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Bracha hang on?
Martin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bracha tries to hold on but Martin postures up.
Martin cracks Bracha with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bracha is trying to escape the mount.
Martin content just to control the position here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Martin looking to control but Bracha is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Bracha can't escape the position.
Martin with the ground and pound from mount.
Bracha is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Bracha tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Bracha in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Bracha slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Martin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Bracha is staying active underneath Martin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Bracha manages to get to full guard.
Martin controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bracha has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Martin has passed into side control.
Bracha wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nolan Martin dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Martin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bracha but Bracha pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Bracha swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bracha throws a nice looking combination but Martin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Martin throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Martin has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Bracha fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bracha moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Eli Bracha seems to be getting the better of the standup.
A chopping leg kick lands by Martin.
Martin connects with the punch.
Bracha uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Martin.
Martin misses with a double jab.
Martin is looking to chop away at Bracha's legs.

Bracha is looking to clinch but Martin is avoiding it.
Martin lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
No luck for Martin with that takedown attempt.
Bracha throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Martin shoots in looking for a takedown but Bracha manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Martin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nolan Martin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Martin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bracha was well out of range. Poor timing from Martin.
Bracha misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bracha looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bracha takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Good leg kick by Martin there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

and Bracha counters with an outside leg kick.
Bracha throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Bracha swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Martin.
Bracha attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Bracha throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Martin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bracha manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Martin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bracha manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Martin has Bracha in his guard.

Martin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Martin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bracha gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Martin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bracha!
Nolan Martin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bracha can't escape the position.
Martin looking to control but Bracha is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Bracha is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bracha wants to hold on but Martin pushes him away.
Martin throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

That's time! Martin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Bracha throws a series of punches but Martin moves out of range.

Martin with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bracha to score with a decent uppercut.
Martin jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Martin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bracha did well to prevent Martin getting side control.

Martin seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Bracha is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Nolan Martin!
Nolan Martin decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
