The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good leg kick by Carvalho there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Kim closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Carvalho did well to prevent Kim getting side control.
Kim not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Carvalho looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Kim thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Carvalho's head.
Kim tries to pass to full mount but Carvalho defends it.
Kim slips a nice elbow through Carvalho's hands, connecting with Carvalho's forehead.

Kim is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Carvalho is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kim pulls his head out easily.

Kim trying to control but Carvalho is working from the bottom.
Kim postures up in Carvalho's guard and throws a big left but Carvalho blocks it.
Kim working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Carvalho's head.
Carvalho trying to keep a closed guard but Kim is proving a slippery customer.
Kim keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Carvalho's head.
Kim trying to control the position from guard on top but Carvalho is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kim missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Kim trying to control but Carvalho is working from the bottom.
Kim has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Carvalho working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kim doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kim manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Carvalho throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Kim escapes and throws Carvalho's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kim is looking to take a break and control but Carvalho is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kim tries to advance to mount but Carvalho denies him.
Carvalho is looking for a sweep.

Kim laying and praying for a moment but Carvalho takes advantage and regains half guard.
Kim tries to pass to full mount but Carvalho defends it.

Kim is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Carvalho gets back to full guard.
Kim connects with a couple of short punches.

Kim avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Carvalho looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Kim is defending well. Carvalho quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Kim has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Carvalho celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
