Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Coghi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cody Harlow! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coghi dips to his left and cracks Harlow with an uppercut! Coghi scores with a sloppy right hand. Harlow should have avoided that one. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Harlow showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Coghi.
Coghi misses with a few strikes there.
Coghi misses with a double jab.
No luck for Coghi with that takedown attempt. A left and a right from Coghi both land. Nice combination. Harlow avoids a punch combination nicely.
Coghi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Harlow. Harlow scores with a takedown into Coghi's guard. Harlow drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Coghi dives on top into guard. Harlow looking for a guillotine here but Coghi defends easily.
Harlow tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harlow is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Harlow looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Coghi has picked Harlow up and slammed him! Harlow can't keep hold of the triangle and Coghi manages to pass to side control! Harlow gets back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Harlow wants to control but Coghi passes into side.
Harlow tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Coghi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Harlow tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Coghi presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Harlow looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harlow wants to hold on but Coghi pushes him away. Harlow is looking to get to half guard. Harlow wants to control but Coghi is having none of it. Harlow slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Coghi is thwarting Harlow's attempts to control the position. Harlow is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Harlow trying to control here.
The fighters are battling for position here. Harlow manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Coghi wants to control from the top but Harlow keeps moving. Harlow has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Coghi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Coghi preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Cody Harlow will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Coghi shoots and misses and Harlow counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Harlow seems to be working for a kimura but Coghi defends the submission attempt. Harlow slips a nice elbow through Coghi's hands, connecting with Coghi's forehead. Harlow trying to advance position but Coghi counters by regaining guard. Harlow showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Harlow trying to control but Coghi is working from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harlow missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Harlow sitting in guard, not really doing much. Coghi controls Harlow momentarily but Harlow frees himself. Coghi keeping moving, preventing Harlow from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Harlow slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Harlow wants to lay and pray for a moment but Coghi keeps working. Coghi tries to get back to half guard but can't. Harlow working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Coghi struggling a bit here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harlow wants to control but Coghi is keeping him busy. Harlow thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Harlow wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Coghi, who protects the arm well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Harlow wants to lay and pray for a moment but Coghi keeps working.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Coghi misses with a double jab.
Coghi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Harlow clinches with his opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Harlow breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Diego Coghi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Coghi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Harlow has managed to clinch.
Harlow wants a takedown but no success here.
Coghi is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Harlow pulls him back up using the underhooks. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cody Harlow showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
A punch combination from Coghi misses. Coghi throws a low kick, looking for Harlow's leg but Harlow calmly moves out of range. Harlow slips a jab and a cross from Coghi.
Left hook, right uppercut from Coghi. Coghi throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Harlow shoots in and drives through. Coghi sprawls well. Coghi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Coghi tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Harlow counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Coghi pushes Harlow off looking to stand but Harlow dives back in and keeps control.
Coghi is trying to control but can't.
Harlow is trying to work for a kimura but Coghi is defending well.
Coghi moves into full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harlow trying to control but Coghi is working from the bottom. Harlow stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Coghi swivels though and keeps the full guard. Harlow works a leg free and moves into half guard. Harlow looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Harlow throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Harlow with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Harlow looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Harlow seems to be looking for submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Harlow is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Coghi defends it well. Harlow not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Harlow trying to hold on to Coghi's head to control him but Coghi postures up.
And that's the end of the fight! Cody Harlow comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Harlow winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
