Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frank Dux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Bennett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Dux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charles Bennett!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Bennett. Dux does a little dance to reset his feet.
Frank Dux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dux fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bennett avoids it really well and circles away.
Bennett misses with a head kick.
Bennett tests Dux's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Some bone on bone action there as Dux checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Bennett will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nice sprawl there from Bennett as Dux shoots in.
Bennett connects with a body shot that sends Dux's belly button to the back.
Bennett misses with a wild body shot.
Bennett stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bennett wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Dux. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bennett stuns Dux with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
No luck for Dux with that takedown attempt.
Bennett digs a good body shot into Dux's ribs.
Bennett scores with a jab to the body.

Dux doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bennett connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Dux fails with a takedown attempt.
Bennett is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Bennett keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Dux takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Dux defending well as Bennett loads up on a big left hand.

Dux closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dux lands in his opponent's guard.
Dux throws a strike but Bennett rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dux is on top in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dux connects with a couple of short punches.
Dux throwing strikes from guard but Bennett blocks nicely.
Dux might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bennett is pulling down on Dux's head. It's preventing any offense from Dux, at least for the moment.
Dux throws a big elbow that misses.

Dux drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bennett dives on top into guard.
Dux tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Dux bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bennett's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dux throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Bennett pulls Dux in close to prevent any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dux accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Dux won't allow Bennett to get back to his feet.
Dux throws a big elbow that misses.
Dux throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bennett works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Dux has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bennett is on top in guard.

Dux is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Bennett frees his head nicely. Oh but Dux has switched to an armbar! Bennett is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Frank Dux!
