Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bill Nye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrei Karpov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karpov is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Scarface - No Tears. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bill Nye! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andrei Karpov! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nye rushes Karpov and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Nye obliges. Nye jumps into guard, dragging Karpov to the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Karpov trying to control but Nye is working from the bottom. Nye looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Nye keeping full guard, as Karpov tries to pass. Nye wants to stand and escape but Karpov is having none of it. Nye wriggles free and stands up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nye moves into the clinch. Nye pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nye tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Nye forces Karpov back against the cage and clinches. Nye wants the takedown. Karpov is fighting it off but Nye persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Karpov's guard against the cage. Karpov looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Nye passes into half guard.
Karpov is looking to control Nye's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Karpov avoid being mounted?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karpov is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Nye is staying active. Nye tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Karpov. Nye sitting and controlling from the half guard. Karpov looking for submissions off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karpov wants to improve his position but Nye is controlling well.
Karpov actively working from the bottom here. Karpov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nye pulls his head out easily. It looks like Nye is going to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Karpov tries to get to full guard but Nye has control of the leg. Karpov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nye is working away from the top position though. Nye decides to stand up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Karpov with a poor takedown and Nye counters by moving into the clinch. Karpov tries to score a body lock takedown but Nye shows good agility there to stay on his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nye shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Karpov napping and manages to drive through into side control! Karpov tries to bench press Nye off him but Nye keeps the position. Nye stands up and beckons Karpov to his feet. Nye tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Karpov paws at him with a jab and circles away. Karpov shoots and misses and Nye moves into the clinch. Nye lands an elbow that stopped Karpov in his tracks for a moment. A short right hand to the side of the head by Nye. Stalling in the clinch from Nye.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nye is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Karpov is defending well for now. Karpov has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Nye avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Nye stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Nye has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Karpov is trying to keep an underhook but Nye manages to get the takedown into half guard. Nye with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nye decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Bill Nye is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Karpov doesn't succeed with the takedown and Nye counters by moving into the clinch. Bill Nye has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrei Karpov. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Nye obliges. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nye manages to break the clinch.
Nye feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Karpov's calf. Nye is looking to slow Karpov down with leg kicks. Nye forces Karpov back against the cage and clinches. Nye pulls guard effortlessly.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karpov looking to pass the guard. Bill Nye overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Karpov stopping the sweep attempt from Nye. Nye wants to stand and escape but Karpov is having none of it. Nye controlling the position. Karpov trying to control but Nye is working from the bottom. Karpov has gone for a leg lock! Nye slips out almost immediately though and dives into Karpov's guard. Karpov wants to sweep here but Nye controlling him for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nye passes Karpov's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Nye decides to stand and escape the position. Karpov shoots in but no luck this time. Bill Nye seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nye instigates a clinch. Karpov looking for a takedown. Nye pushes Karpov back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bill Nye dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Nye shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Karpov eats them both and turns towards Nye to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Karpov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Nye counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Karpov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Karpov misses with a takedown attempt and Nye counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Nye. Karpov has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Nye after a bit of a struggle. Bill Nye has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrei Karpov. Nye gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Karpov regains guard.
Nye stands up from Karpov's guard - Nye perhaps looking for a knockout. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nye decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Still in half guard, Nye seems content to control. Nye postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Karpov to stand up. Nye is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Karpov can do to turn this around? Nye moves into the clinch. Nye has clasped his hands together around Karpov's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Karpov tries to bench press Nye off him but Nye keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nye taking a breather here. Karpov looks to move to half guard but instead Nye has passed into mount! Damn! Karpov tries to improve his position but instead Nye has taken his back! Karpov is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Karpov is in bad spot here.
Bill Nye is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Nye avoiding Karpov 's attempts to control his hands. Nye biding his time, controlling Karpov. Karpov just trying to survive but Nye is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
And that's the end of the fight! Bill Nye showed his dominance in that final round. Well Nye has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
