Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arus Damon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jake Shields is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Arus Damon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jake Shields!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shields ducks right into an uppercut from Damon.
Jab, jab by Damon - just one landing.
Shields on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Shields throws a left and a right that both miss
and Damon counters with a nice uppercut.
Shields bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Shields moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Shields tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shields decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Damon scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Damon throws a head kick that Shields semi-blocks.
Damon lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Damon fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Shields on the side of the head.
Shields looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
A head kick from Damon lands but Shields takes it in his stride.
The fighters circling - Damon throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Shields fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Shields instigates a clinch.
Shields tightens his grip and picks Damon up, before dumping him to the ground. Damon manages to land in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shields controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Damon looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Shields works over Damon with some ground and pound from guard.
Shields engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shields lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Shields pushes down on Damon's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Damon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shields on the ground.
Shields slips a nice elbow through Damon's hands, connecting with Damon's forehead.
Shields is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Shields breaks from Damon's wrist control and lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shields looking to control and managing it successfully.
Shields with a couple of short strikes.
Shields with shots to the head and body - Damon looks very uncomfortable down there.
Shields working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Damon turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Shields off and cradles Damon's limp body as Shields celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Jake Shields!
