Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, KC Storm! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edward Louis Iii Severson! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Joseph Jones and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Severson gets off balance looking for a body kick and Storm counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Severson is lucky that one didn't land flush. Severson misses with a kick to the body and Storm counters with a shoot takedown. Severson fights it but they end up in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Severson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Storm. Storm has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Storm throwing strikes from guard but Severson blocks nicely. Storm postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Storm throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Severson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Storm tries to free his leg and advance position but Severson is retaining full guard. Storm missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Storm throws a big right hand that misses. Storm plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Storm really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Storm tests Severson's chin there with a solid looking shot. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Severson blocks a head kick by Storm.

Storm swings around for an armbar but Severson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Storm's guard. Storm lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Severson! Storm looking to finish with strikes here!

This isn't 1993 though, so Severson shrugs it off. Severson blocking the ground and pound. Severson blocking the ground and pound. Severson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Storm is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
