The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
DeLuzi misses with a jab, cross combination.
DeLuzi keeps the fight on the outside.

DeLuzi shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. DeLuzi showed some decent athleticism there.
Savage wants to improve his position but DeLuzi is controlling well.
Savage gets back to full guard.
Savage keeping full guard, as DeLuzi tries to pass.
DeLuzi looking to sit in guard and control but Savage gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

DeLuzi is trying to control the position but Savage postures up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
DeLuzi wants to control but Savage is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Savage changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. DeLuzi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Savage gets to mount! DeLuzi was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
DeLuzi tries to control Savage's body but Savage pushes him off. DeLuzi squirms to his side and now Savage has his back!

Savage has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
DeLuzi is really stuck here.

Can DeLuzi hold on?! Savage is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Savage controlling well, preventing DeLuzi from escaping the position.
Savage trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure DeLuzi doesn't escape.
DeLuzi breaks Savage's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Savage stays in close to DeLuzi's body and controls the position.
Savage thows a big elbow that misses.
Savage keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of DeLuzi's head.
Savage postures up and lands a big shot to DeLuzi's brow.
DeLuzi wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Savage tries to free his leg and advance position but DeLuzi is retaining full guard.

Savage gets to his feet - DeLuzi follows without any prompting.
DeLuzi looks to land a combination. Savage sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
DeLuzi doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Savage counters by moving into the clinch.

Savage manages to pull guard.

Savage working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. DeLuzi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Savage is tightening it up a little... DeLuzi has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! DeLuzi reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! DeLuzi taps out! nice BJJ there by Savage!
