Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Manny Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vo Nguyen Giap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Giap has chosen Beach Party Vietnam as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Manny Machado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vo Nguyen Giap!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giap tries to close the distance and clinch but Machado swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Vo Nguyen Giap seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Machado fails with the takedown.

Giap closes the distance and clinches.
Giap fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Giap.
Machado blocking some punches.
Machado tries a body shot but Giap blocks it.

Giap pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Giap takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Machado decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Giap's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Giap is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Giap wants to get back to his feet but Machado is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Machado will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Machado shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Machado takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Giap tries to work over Machado's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Vo Nguyen Giap will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Giap fails in his attempt to clinch.

Giap drives through and clinches with Machado against the cage.

Machado manages to pull guard.
Machado is pulling down on Giap's head. It's preventing any offense from Giap, at least for the moment.
Machado might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Giap wants to get up but he can't break Machado's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Machado has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Giap should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Machado has tightened it up now! Giap should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
