Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jose Antonio Gonzalo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hippo Maimer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalo moves into the clinch.
Gonzalo tries to break free but Maimer pushes him back against the cage.
Maimer keeps control of Gonzalo as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Maimer gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Maimer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maimer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Gonzalo is trying to control the position but Maimer postures up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Maimer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gonzalo keeps working.
Maimer throws a strike aimed at the side of Gonzalo's head but Gonzalo avoids it well.
Gonzalo is breathing heavily.
Maimer is looking to take a break and control but Gonzalo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Maimer creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Gonzalo sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The referee asks Maimer politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Maimer prefers to stall for the moment though.

Gonzalo walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Maimer swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
