The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramos shoots in looking for a takedown but Malfacine manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ramos's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Malfacine slaps away a takedown attempt from Ramos, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bruno Malfacine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ramos closes the distance but Malfacine moves to the side
and Malfacine counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Ramos!
Malfacine is working for a guillotine from mount but Ramos frees his head quite easily.
Ramos tries to improve his position but instead Malfacine has taken his back!

Ramos is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Malfacine off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Ramos reaches up to try and control the position but Malfacine seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Ramos rolls and tries to escape and now Malfacine has his back!

Malfacine is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Ramos defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
