Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bogey James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Dodson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bogey James has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bogey James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Dodson!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dodson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dodson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst James is controlling him.
James lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
James works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Dodson tries to get to full guard but James has control of the leg.
Dodson is trying to stand back up but James is controlling him

James is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. James connects with a nice short shot to Dodson's temple.
Dodson has hold of James's hands but James slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
James lands strikes from half guard.

James is looking for a kimura but Dodson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for James to get the leverage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
James is looking to advance position but Dodson won't allow it.

James is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
James blocks the strikes from Dodson.
Dodson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Dodson pushes James off and gets back to his feet.
James misses with a takedown attempt - Dodson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

James moves into the clinch successfully.

James successfully pulls guard.
Dodson trying to stand up but can't free himself from James's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dodson wants to control from the top but James keeps moving.

James kicks Dodson off and gets to his feet.

Dodson tries to sprawl but James drives through with a takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
James lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
James is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

James looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
James is trying to control the action in half guard but Dodson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
James is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
James controlling the action here.
James with the ground and pound but Dodson uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Dodson wants to sweep here but James controlling him for the moment.

James is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

James is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
James postures up and lands a big shot to Dodson's brow.


Dodson is rocked!
James passes Dodson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
James trying to control the action but Dodson is working from the bottom.
Dodson has hold of James's hands but James slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Dodson is still in real trouble! Can James finish him?

James lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Dodson! More strikes land and this one is all over! James jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bogey James!
