Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jonathon Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jonathon Jackson looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jonathon Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Wells!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wells misses with a head kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jackson.
Wells dives in and grabs Jackson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes down on Wells's head and hops out.
A punch combination from Jackson misses.
Jackson is breathing heavily.
Wells has a takedown stuffed.

The fight stays on the outside here - Jackson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jackson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Wells rushes Jackson and presses him up against the cage.

Wells is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Wells fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jackson avoids it really well and circles away.
Wells shoots in for a double leg but Jackson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Wells shoots in looking for a takedown. Jackson tries to sprawl out of it but Wells keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jackson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jackson trying to control the position but instead, Wells has worked for underhooks and has pushed Jackson into the cage.
Wells struggles to land a body shot inside as Jackson controls his hands.
Wells jumps guard but Jackson stands there with Wells around his waist. Wells gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Wells drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jackson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Jackson swings for the body but Wells moves out of range.
Wells goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Wells has closed the distance and engaged Jackson in a clinch.

Wells's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jackson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wells misses with a double jab.
Wells misses with a kick to the body
and Jackson counters with a series of strikes. Wells will be more careful next time no doubt.
Wells throws a lazy right hand but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Nice takedown defense from Jackson. No joy for Wells on that attempt.
Wells tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jackson swivels and escapes.
Wells shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jackson as he jumps to the side.
Jackson throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Jonathon Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wells closes the distance and pushes Jackson back into the cage.

Wells has Jackson pushed against the cage.

Wells manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Jackson trying to control but Wells is working from the bottom.
Jackson is really struggling to control Wells but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Wells has control of Jackson's left arm, preventing Jackson from doing any damage.

Wells is looking for a triangle but Jackson pushes his legs off easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Wells misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jackson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jackson throws a nice looking combination but Wells bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Wells forces Jackson back against the cage and clinches.

Wells pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Wells shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Wells changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jackson tries to avoid it but Wells manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jackson to the ground. Jackson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Wells shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Wells changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jackson tries to avoid it but Wells manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jackson to the ground. Jackson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jackson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wells has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jackson has managed to get both his arms back between Wells's legs - danger averted.

Wells has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jackson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wells isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jackson stacks Wells on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jackson!
Wells really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jackson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Jackson blocks the strikes from Wells.
Wells tries to escape but Jackson is in control.

Wells is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Jackson is staying active.

Jackson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Wells gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Wells is trying to stand up here but Jackson is controlling him well.

Jackson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Wells is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Wells is trying to drag Jackson to the mat but Jackson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Wells has Jackson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jackson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Wells.
Jackson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Wells avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Jackson struggles to land a body shot inside as Wells controls his hands.
Wells tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jackson just stands there and leans against the cage.
Wells jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jackson walks away with a smile on his face. Wells gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Wells throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jackson was covering up waiting for the punch and Wells finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jackson pushes Wells off and scrambles back to his feet.
Jonathon Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Paul Wells is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
No joy there for Jackson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Paul Wells comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Wells has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
