PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jalen Boggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Lampley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lampley comes into a darkened arena with his song building. "No One Kows" Queens of the Stone Age kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boggs shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Lampley counters with a takedown into side control.

Lampley stands up and beckons Boggs to his feet.
Boggs will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lampley keeps the fight on the outside.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Boggs is defended easily by Lampley.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lampley is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Boggs to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Boggs shrugs it off.

Lampley wants to control the pace but Boggs is squirming around nicely.

Lampley can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Boggs is looking to escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lampley lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Boggs is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Well Lampley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
