PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steven Moorhouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dusty Adamek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steven Moorhouse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dusty Adamek!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adamek displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
A jab from Adamek misses.
Moorhouse displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Adamek throws out the jab.
Adamek swinging wildly here.
Adamek avoids the body shot from Moorhouse.
Adamek fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Moorhouse avoids it really well and circles away.
Moorhouse tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Adamek throws a push kick but Moorhouse slaps the foot to one side.
Moorhouse avoids the head kick by Adamek.
Moorhouse pushes Adamek away with a front kick.
Adamek misses with a low kick as Moorhouse jumps back.
Adamek shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Moorhouse sprawls well. Moorhouse wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Adamek gets slowly back to his feet.
Moorhouse lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Moorhouse leaves Adamek with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Steven Moorhouse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dusty Adamek.

Moorhouse darts in and clinches Adamek up against the ropes.

Adamek got a little sloppy there for a moment and Moorhouse has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Adamek has managed to get both his arms back between Moorhouse's legs - danger averted.

Adamek is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Moorhouse is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Moorhouse has escaped and now he's on top!

Moorhouse trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Moorhouse stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Adamek swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Adamek is pulling down on Moorhouse's head to control his posture.

Adamek is edging up against the ropes. He's using the ropes to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Moorhouse misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Moorhouse breaks the clinch.
Adamek steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Moorhouse. That one must have hurt.
Moorhouse throws a head kick but Adamek moves out of range.
Dusty Adamek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Moorhouse takes the fight into the clinch.

Moorhouse breaks from the clinch.
Adamek tries a head kick but it misses.
Adamek stuns Moorhouse with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Adamek takes the fight into the clinch.
Moorhouse looking to throw knees to the head but Adamek is blocking nicely.
Adamek keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Moorhouse's efforts to push away.
Adamek wants to take the fight to the mat but Moorhouse manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Adamek works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Adamek scoring with some ground and pound.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Moorhouse escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Adamek gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Moorhouse keeping moving, preventing Adamek from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dusty Adamek will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Moorhouse tries to close the distance and clinch but Adamek swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Steven Moorhouse is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Adamek throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Moorhouse throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Adamek.
Adamek steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Moorhouse. That one must have hurt.
Moorhouse throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Adamek shoots for a takedown but Moorhouse saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Moorhouse lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Adamek circles away quickly and effectively.
Adamek bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Adamek shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Moorhouse is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Adamek.
Dusty Adamek seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Moorhouse scores with a head kick. Adamek tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Moorhouse throws a combination. Adamek tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Adamek tries to clinch up but Moorhouse circles away and keeps his distance.

Adamek rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Moorhouse moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Moorhouse stuffs the takedown attempt from Adamek. Adamek gets slowly back to his feet.
Moorhouse looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Adamek attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Moorhouse!
Moorhouse shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Adamek defends it nicely.

Adamek moves into the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Adamek prevents a takedown attempt there.

Moorhouse's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Moorhouse drives through and clinches with Adamek against the ropes.
Moorhouse is trying to push Adamek away but Adamek has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.

Adamek jumps into guard, dragging Moorhouse to the mat.

Moorhouse postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Adamek is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Moorhouse, into his guard.
Adamek wants to control from the top but Moorhouse keeps moving.

Adamek is pushing down on Moorhouse's leg trying to pass to half guard. Moorhouse is fighting to maintain full guard but Adamek has managed to sneak the leg through.

Moorhouse is not content to let Adamek control the position.
Adamek lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Adamek performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Adamek connects with a nice short shot to Moorhouse's temple.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dusty Adamek showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Adamek jabs Moorhouse right on the nose. Moorhouse blinks but takes it well.
Moorhouse will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Adamek feints and as Moorhouse raises his hands in defense, Adamek changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Adamek scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Moorhouse keeping moving, preventing Adamek from controlling successfully.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dusty Adamek wasn't active enough on the ground.

Moorhouse closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.

Adamek tries to score a body lock takedown but Moorhouse shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Moorhouse escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Moorhouse lands with a kick to the temple. Adamek shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
A combination from Adamek does no damage.
Moorhouse walks into a straight right hand from Adamek.
Nice body kick from Moorhouse.
Adamek fails with a takedown attempt.
Adamek takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Moorhouse closes the distance and clinches.
Adamek is looking for a takedown.
Steven Moorhouse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dusty Adamek.
Moorhouse wants to get back to striking at distance but Adamek won't allow it.
Adamek cracks Moorhouse with a nice body shot.
Dusty Adamek is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Adamek drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Moorhouse gets the underhooks and prevents it.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Moorhouse doesn't manage to clinch there - Adamek circles away.

Adamek changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Moorhouse tries to avoid it but Adamek manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Moorhouse to the ground. Moorhouse escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Adamek tries to keep at a distance but Moorhouse has taken the fight into the clinch.

Moorhouse breaks the clinch.
Adamek throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A head kick misses from Moorhouse.
Moorhouse moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Moorhouse scores with a one two! Adamek had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Moorhouse throws a right and a left that both miss.
Adamek shoots in looking for a takedown but Moorhouse manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Adamek's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Adamek throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Adamek shoots in for a takedown but Moorhouse shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Moorhouse moves into the clinch successfully.

Moorhouse is fighting off a takedown attempt but Adamek is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Moorhouse to the mat. Moorhouse regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Steven Moorhouse has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Moorhouse wants to stand and escape but Adamek is having none of it.
Dusty Adamek has got the better of the ground game so far.

Moorhouse is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Moorhouse working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Adamek doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Adamek manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Steven Moorhouse.
I think Adamek has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
