Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cody A Miller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Derek Flynn! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Flynn's waist but Flynn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Miller off to one side. Miller shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Flynn as he avoids it easily. Miller throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Flynn. Some wild striking there from Miller.
Miller throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Flynn moves into the clinch. Miller tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Miller's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Miller forces Flynn back against the cage and clinches. A knee to the head by Miller.
Flynn wants a takedown but no success here.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cody A Miller. That's going to take a lot out of him. Flynn has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Miller is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Miller with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Miller avoids the head kick by Flynn.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller leaves Flynn with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Miller slaps away a takedown attempt from Flynn, before circling back to the center of the mat. Miller rushes Flynn and presses him up against the cage. Flynn jumps guard but Miller turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Flynn dodges an elbow strike from Miller.

Miller gets a clinch. Miller connects with a nasty looking knee right to Flynn's face.

Miller will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Miller is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Miller decides to return to a standing position. Flynn looks gassed! Miller rushes Flynn and presses him up against the cage. Miller tries to land a knee to the head but Flynn blocks with his arms.
Flynn is trying to drag Miller to the mat but Miller just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Miller breaks from the clinch.

Flynn is trying to pull guard but Miller turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Flynn takes an elbow to the temple.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flynn is trying to break free. Miller jumps into guard, dragging Flynn to the mat.
Miller is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Flynn defends well. Miller has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Miller manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Flynn is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miller with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Flynn is in all sorts of trouble here.
Miller looking to control but Flynn is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Flynn keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cody A Miller dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Miller darts in and clinches Flynn up against the cage. Miller lands a knee to the body.

Miller utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Flynn wants to get back to striking at distance but Miller won't allow it.
Miller escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Miller connects with a high kick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Miller has taken the fight to the clinch.
Miller has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Flynn is trying to keep an underhook but Miller manages to get the takedown into half guard. Miller passes to side control. Flynn tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Miller wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Flynn is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller trying to control the position but Flynn is working away. An elbow from Miller crashes against the mat.
Miller scores with punches from side control. Miller decides to take the fight back to the feet. Miller dives in and grabs Flynn's left leg, looking for a takedown. Flynn pushes down on Miller's head and hops out. Flynn tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Miller is able to avoid easily. Miller takes the fight into the clinch. Flynn is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Miller gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Miller ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Miller no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Miller looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Flynn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Miller. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Miller wants to sweep here but Flynn controlling him for the moment. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Flynn is looking to stand up but Miller won't let him. Flynn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Miller has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Flynn has managed to get both his arms back between Miller's legs - danger averted. Miller doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Flynn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Miller throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Flynn avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Flynn working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Flynn trying to control but Miller is working from the bottom. Miller is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Miller breaks the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miller looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Flynn is fending him off so far but Miller persists. Nope, Flynn circles away and we're back to standing. Flynn moves into the clinch. Flynn tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Miller smiles and moves away.
Flynn tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Miller connects with a leg kick. Flynn looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Flynn moves into the clinch. Flynn has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Miller after a bit of a struggle. Cody A Miller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derek Flynn. Miller blocks an uppercut.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Knees in the clinch landing for Miller.
This has been an exciting period of action! Miller pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Miller throws a right and a left that Flynn avoids nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cody A Miller dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Flynn wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Miller is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Flynn can do to turn this around? Miller stalling in the clinch.

Miller gets control of Flynn's arms and successfully pulls guard. Miller will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Miller pushes Flynn off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Miller misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Flynn clinches up against the cage. Miller jumps guard and drags Flynn to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Miller is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round. Miller had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Flynn defends it easily. Miller controls Flynn momentarily but Flynn frees himself. Miller wants to stand up but Flynn is controlling him. Flynn trying to control but Miller is working from the bottom. Miller has his feet on Flynn's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Miller. Flynn looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Miller is fending him off so far but Flynn persists. Nope, Miller circles away and we're back to standing. Miller on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Flynn stuns Miller with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Flynn shoots in but Miller avoids the takedown attempt easily. Miller tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Flynn paws at him with a jab and circles away. Miller gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Miller connects with a nasty looking knee right to Flynn's face.

Miller is struggling to control the position. Nice elbow from Miller. Miller jumps guard and drags Flynn to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Flynn wants to pass the guard but Miller is keeping the position. Miller not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Flynn wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving. Miller trying to keep a closed guard but Flynn is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Cody A Miller wasn't doing enough on the ground. Miller clinches. Miller pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Miller looking to throw knees to the head but Flynn is blocking nicely.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Miller decides to pull guard. Flynn wants to stand but Miller has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Derek Flynn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cody A Miller is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Cody A Miller overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Flynn working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Cody A Miller showed his dominance in that final round. Well Miller has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
