Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy Lim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vivek Sai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andy Lim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vivek Sai!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yuuki Gou and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lim will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lim avoids a punch combination nicely.
Lim fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lim fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sai throws a solid leg kick but Lim takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Sai.
Horrible takedown by Sai or perhaps it was just good defense by Lim which made him look bad.

Sai closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Sai is pressed up against the cage. Lim has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sai down to the mat. Sai avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andy Lim. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sai connects with a jab.


It looks like Andy Lim has been cut.

Sai clinches up against the cage.
Sai wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Sai manages to pull guard.
Lim throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Lim wants to control from the top but Sai keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lim is fighting to break Sai's control of his arms but Sai is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Sai wants to improve his position but instead Lim has moved into half guard.
Lim is looking to take a break and control but Sai is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Sai tries to roll over but Lim keeps him under control.

Sai closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lim circles away.

Nice takedown defense from Sai. No joy for Lim on that attempt.

A bone on bone clash there as Sai blocks the leg kick.
Lim shoots in but Sai avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lim looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Sai closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Sai has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Lim looking for a takedown.

Sai jumps guard and drags Lim to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Sai wants to sweep but no luck.

Lim is looking to stand up but Sai won't let him.
Lim is looking to work some ground and pound but Sai has wrist control.
Sai wants to hit a switch here but Lim passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Sai there!
Sai tries to reverse the position but Lim maintains control.
Lim wants to control the pace but Sai is squirming around nicely.
Lim avoids the attempt from Sai to control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sai is looking to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sai swats away the attempt to clinch by Lim.

Lim tries to keep at a distance but Sai has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lim tries to pull guard but Sai holds him up against the cage and eventually Lim drops back down to his feet.
Sai is trying to force a seperation but Lim has the dominant position.
Lim gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sai.
Lim tries to circle away but Sai has him pinned against the cage.

Sai's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Andy Lim is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Sai tries for a takedown but Lim sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Lim is looking to clinch but Sai is avoiding it.
Lim takes one to the chin there.
Sai looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lim is fending him off so far but Sai persists. Nope, Lim circles away and we're back to standing.
Andy Lim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vivek Sai.
Sai throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lim looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Lim tries to clinch but Sai is having none of it.
Lim shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sai pinned against the cage. Sai gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Lim throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sai was covering up waiting for the punch and Lim finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sai keeping moving, preventing Lim from controlling successfully.

Sai is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Lim stopping the sweep attempt from Sai.
Sai wants to stand but Lim is controlling the position.

Sai is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Lim trying to control the position from guard on top but Sai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lim is really struggling to control Sai but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Sai wants to sweep here but Lim controlling him for the moment.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Sai uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Lim changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sai tries to avoid it but Lim manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sai to the ground. Sai escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Sai rushes Lim and presses him up against the cage.

Lim jumps into guard, dragging Sai to the mat.
Lim tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sai engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Vivek Sai will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Sai closes the distance and pushes Lim back into the cage.
Sai tries to pull guard but Lim holds him up against the cage and eventually Sai drops back down to his feet.
Lim tries to work over Sai's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Sai decides to pull guard.
Lim tries to free his leg and advance position but Sai is retaining full guard.
Sai has his hands on Lim's head, controlling the position.
Sai throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Sai keeping moving, preventing Lim from controlling successfully.
Sai really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lim. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lim thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Sai throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Sai throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Lim wants to control from the top but Sai keeps moving.
Sai pulls Lim in close to prevent any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Andy Lim.
Sai stuffs the takedown attempt from Lim. Lim gets slowly back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Sai looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sai tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lim swivels and escapes.
Andy Lim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vivek Sai.

and Sai counters by clinching up.
Lim swings wildly with an uppercut but Sai uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sai takes an elbow to the temple.


It looks like Vivek Sai has been cut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sai tries to land knees in the clinch but Lim avoids the damage to the body.
Lim fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Sai holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Lim is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
A frustrated look appears on Sai's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Sai pulls guard effortlessly.
Sai is pulling down on Lim's head. It's preventing any offense from Lim, at least for the moment.
Sai is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lim has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sai is proving hard to escape from.

Sai is looking for a triangle but Lim pushes his legs off easily.
Sai looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sai is trying to keep Lim in close.
Lim throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sai works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Andy Lim has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Vivek Sai is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Lim throwing strikes from guard but Sai blocks nicely.

Vivek Sai comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sai has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
