Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henry Ballard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Yamato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danny Yamato!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Bruno Lombardi and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ballard swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Henry Ballard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yamato misses with a takedown

and Ballard counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Ground and pound from Ballard.
Yamato tries to get to full guard but Ballard has control of the leg.
Ballard takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Ballard is pressing down on Yamato's thigh, looking to free his foot. Yamato is holding on for now.

Ballard has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Yamato's face.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ballard moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Yamato has worked his arm free - good work by Yamato!

Ballard shoots in looking for a takedown but Yamato manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ballard's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Yamato changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ballard looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The ground and pound from Yamato seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Yamato lands a leg kick that knocks Ballard off balance momentarily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Yamato has his foot on Ballard's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ballard works his way back into a safe position though.

Ballard has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Ballard is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Yamato is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Yamato takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Henry Ballard overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Yamato avoids the attempt from Ballard to control.
Yamato is landing with some decent strikes but Ballard is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Yamato has a takedown stuffed.
Yamato dives in and grabs Ballard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ballard pushes down on Yamato's head and hops out.

Yamato gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Henry Ballard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Yamato.
Yamato tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ballard manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Ballard bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Yamato's head.

Ballard wants to control from the top but Yamato keeps moving.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Yamato has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Ballard off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Yamato tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Yamato wants to clinch up but Ballard keeps it at a distance.
Ballard rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Yamato moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Yamato tries to clinch but Ballard is having none of it.
Yamato lands a high kick!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Yamato ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ballard moves away.
Nice takedown defense from Yamato. No joy for Ballard on that attempt.

Henry Ballard showed his dominance in that final round.
